Soukoku Being Actual Boyfriends In The French Dub

Soukoku might not be canon in the other dubbings, but if I knew nothing about BSD and watched the French dub, I would assume they are boyfriends (coming from someone who only watched a 4 minute compilation of Soukoku in the French dub). Tell me why the French dub has things like, “mon petit Chuuya,” “mon cher Chuuya,” and even “mon petit Dazai”. My dear in French can also be used in a platonic way, but mon petit + person’s name is usually a term of endearment for a significant other. I could delude myself into believing Dazai just said it to refer to Chuuya’s height, but I can’t if Chuuya said it too. I don’t even want to imagine what the French dub for Dead Apple sounds like.
