Your Eyes, Vacant and Stained
Ch.35 - 8k
Pairing: Frank Iero / Gerard Way
Gerard's eyes filled with tears, when he rubbed his limb free from the crusty fabric, it yanked the fabric apart from his flesh and made the bleeding worsen. He bit his lip as he presented it to Frank.
The pan was on him instantly. He screamed again, but threw his good arm into his face to muffle it. His skin sizzled loudly, it smelled strangely like burnt coffee and nacho Doritos.
Frank stomach turned as he lost any satisfaction for those foods. Gerard fainted, falling into Frank, causing him to drop the pan. Frank finally cried.

The ax didn't cut through on the first swing, and Gerard hadn't bitten down. When the blade connected with bone, Gerard's head flew back and a scream tore through his throat. Frank's panic erupted, the hyperventilating was unstoppable.
"GET IT OFF!" Gerard screamed through agonized pants and groans. Frank came down again, unconsciously, obeying just what his brain was able to comprehend. "A-AGAIN!"
It took three full swings before the hunk of flesh that was Gerard's infected arm slipped from the side table and hollowly thunked onto the floor. Blood sprayed endlessly around them, coating them like a vampiric rave. Shock sent Frank into a robotic trance, his anxiety was able to be ignored by his trauma driven mind went into fix-It mode suddenly.
Gerard heaved and sobbed as he clotted the spray with a pillow. Frank wasted no time nearly navigating through the kitchen. He twisted a knob on the corner stove and slapped a frying pan onto the surface as soon as it beat red.
Gerard slumped his head against the shoulder without an arm, staring into the floor his with as much vacancy as Frank felt. The pillow below his had already soaked through, if he put too much pressure on it, it would leak like a heavy sponge.
As soon as the steel cooked, Frank gripped the handle, scrambled back to Gerard's side, and dropped to his knees. Gerard didn't look up, Frank's eyebrows knit as he was determined to save his partner's life.
He gripped Gerard's collar and pushed him to sit straight up, "I'm sorry." Frank said, coldly.
He gripped Gerard close to him, eyes wide as he kissed his head. One arm was under Gerard's, wrapped around his back while the other cupped his face. Gerard's chest heaved slowly.
He's still alive…
Frank braved a look down, Gerard's stump was red and bubbly, it look like raw, uncooked beef and pain. It still sizzled, a disgusting steam rose off him, a small bloody bubble popped. Frank held back a gag.
A forced memory of Gerard's hands on his dick when they smoked together the first time invaded his thoughts. The smoke exchanged and how he felt would never leave him. It was new, and exciting, the only safety in an unforeseen circumstance. Frank wanted to call it forever the moment they were inches apart from each other…
Frank tightened his grip, looking off into the wall as images of chopping Gerard's arm off rose to the surface. He remained unblinking as the tears moistened his vision.
"I-I'm-I'm so so-sorry, Gerard…" Frank's voice shook with his body as he supported Gerard as he slumped. His anxiety threatened vomit again, but the earlier evacuation of dinner prevented anything more than dry heaving.
Eventually, his body gave up, it grew weak, and he also slumped against the couch, his arms refused to let go of Gerard as he vacantly stared at a painting of a cowboy embracing his horse's face with a soft smile. Eyes closed, hat shadowing the animal from the sun.
It was hours later when Frank woke again. The sun was bright in the sky. Frank jumped awake, his eyes caught Gerard's instantly.
Frank sat up swiftly, holding himself by his hands on either side of Gerard's leg. Gerard took a sip of coffee. Frank's face twisted in confusion, his eyes shot to Gerard's arm, wishing everything that had happened the night before was just a nasty dream, but the empty space beside his partners body was proof enough of the truth.
Gerard had wrapped his arm in a now-blood-soaked towel stuck to his body with duct tape. It shuddered slightly between the uncomfortable movements Gerard tested out.
Frank's concerned gaze met Gerard's nonchalant eyes again as he continued to sip his coffee, "How long have you been up? Why didn't you wake me..?" Their faces were only inches apart. The coffee that plagued Gerard's breath had become one of Frank's comfort smells.
He shrugged, "Not that long, you deserve sleep too."
"Not more than you." Frank gestured aggressively at the void beside them before gripping his head in his hands, the events of the last few hours flooded to the front of his brain. "Oh, god, Gee… I can't believe I cut your fucking arm off…" His voice was hardly above a whisper, Gerard winced as he placed the mug beside him and shifted to sit on one knee, getting closer to Frank's face.
Gently, Gerard held Frank's cheek in his hand. Frank couldn't stop his eyes from closing as he fell into the warmth of Gerard.
"I asked you to do it." Their gaze met, Frank couldn't hide the seething regret he was currently fighting. "And, who knows," Gerard shrugged. "Maybe you cut it off soon enough I won't get infected. That's worked in a zombie show or something, right?"
Frank, and Gerard, racked their brains for any proof to Gerard's claim, but nothing came up. In fact, every time Frank thought about a different zombie movie or show, the characters faces would typically be replaced with Mikey's, Ray's, Charlotte's, or Scarlet's face so he dropped it and changed the subject.
"How long before we know?" Frank's stiff words came out like a statement.
Gerard picked up his mug again and sipped, the next shrug he gave Frank only made his spinning emotions worsen. "Mikey was bit at that gas station which was…" Gerard attempted to count the days in his brain but the numbers fought him, his fingers shot up as he tried again. "Agh… it was, like… basically a week or so." He shuddered and clamped his mouth shut as a chill ran down his spin. Gerard refused to mention the somersaults his stomach was doing.
Frank couldn't fully comprehend how Gerard was able to remain so calm about what had happened, but even the forced lengthy nap couldn't replenish his energy enough for him to push. His brain also couldn't comprehend numbers, so he took the length of time Gerard told him and didn’t question it. "Okay, so… a week." Frank moved in, arms extended, as he gently held Gerard's stumped arm in his hands.
There was a heat radiating from the limb still, it could've burned Frank if he held it earlier. His eyes stuck to the makeshift bandage, over-saturated cloth with tape that threatened to slip. Stalled in time, he went over every space previously ransacked in his mind, remembering the lack of medical supplies in their current room.
Gerard grabbed Frank's face again, desperation thinly veiled behind tough eyes suffocated Frank's heart. "Don't think of it like that." Gerard's voice was stern. "We're forever. Even if my forever is cut short, you were there." Gerard's voice cracked. "You are here." Gerard gestured to Frank, his only palm caressed his face.
Frank's heart shattered. "Gerard, I—"
"If this is the end of my forever, you better make it worth it, Frankie." The nickname hit him again. Tears threatened to spill over, but he retreated to the ceiling and blinked them away. Gerard decided not to interrupt as he did what he could to separate himself emotionally. He scratched at the area above the bandage until it bled, he had to sit on his hand to force himself to stop. "Can we just keep going as if we don't know when forever ends..?" Gerard's voice was sad. He couldn't hide the feelings that lingered behind his words any longer.
Frank had nothing to say. He stared into the stained carpet around them, attempting to think of a response, but nothing came. H-how could he… how could he…
"I don't think I can think about it, honestly…" Gerard's words barely registered in Frank's brain. "I have plans." His words held Frank in place. "I had ideas… and plans…" He paused for a long couple of minutes as his thumb aggressively ripped at the remaining four fingers cuticles. "I have things I want to do… Eh— before I die, I mean…"
Frank's chest squeezed, he couldn't pull his gaze from the other man who somehow still looked strong even though his skin was tighter and his gaze more gaunt, already losing the light in his eyes— Frank attempted to not dwell on it.
"What, like a bucket-list?" He joked.
Gerard choked on his laugh, "I guess you could say that, but nothing official… paper trails are lame…" Frank chuckled but could tell he was thinking, so he didn't interrupt. "More like… now that I know I might be dead soon, there's some stuff I want to do… with you. Before I'm gone." Gerard's confidence wavered with each word he spoke, yet it never faltered from his half smirk Frank had grown so fond of.
Frank's hand went out to touch Gerard's shoulder, "We should wait a few days for you to get your strength back."
Gerard shook his head rapidly, "No, no, I'm good. I can get up, watch." Gerard pushed off the ground, leaning his body against the sofa for support. He swayed immediately, the blood rushed to his skull, he blinked it away. Frank hopped quickly to his feet, catching Gerard and holding him until he stabilized again.
"You good?" Frank asked, his sarcasm made Gerard roll his eyes, yet he didn't deny the help as he hobbled them towards the kitchen.
"I just need some cof— water… I just need some water…" Frank's slight smile died as quickly as it came. When they were close enough, Frank whipped a bar stool out and sat Gerard down. Despite protests from Gerard, Frank navigated through the kitchen as if they'd lived years of their lives there. He prepared a glass of ice water instantly, pressing it into the sad mans hand.
"Drink." He demanded. Gerard followed his orders, gulping down the majority of the glass before taking a break to breathe. His eyes more thankful than his words could express. "We should take it slow, Gerard. I don't mind waiting until you're feeling better."
"And if I don't start feeling better?" He snapped, Frank pulled away quickly, face twisting with a mixture of upset fear. Gerard's features steeled alongside his harsh words, "I'm sorry… I'm… I'm getting too much in my own head about it all…" He finished the glass and pushed off the chair. His balance didn't fight him this time. "Come on, I'm not letting my last few days— Ugh," He rubbed roughly at one eye, then the next, absently learning how to move with a single arm. Frank watched him silently, knowing he should accept what Gerard continued to reference now but was completely unable to. "Let's just… we're losing daylight."
Gerard moved to leave, but Frank threw out his hand and yanked him back by his shirt. "Let me change that first." He gestured to the oozing bandage, duct tape slipped and peeled in some corners. It yanked Gerard's skin down as it threatened to pull away.
Gerard gave Frank a final disgruntled look before retaking his seat and allowing the other man to rewrap his wound with clean fabric.
The tape was harder to remove than Frank expected, it resisted pulling apart even as it frayed around the edges. Frank had to take his pocket knife to it in order to get it fully off. The towels yanked some of the singed skin below with each slow motion of Frank's hands. Gerard grunted and bit the inside of his cheeks repeatedly throughout the process to overcome the pain.
Frank rung the blood from the towel in the sink, he prepared a wet paper towel that he used to clean the discolored skin and gelatinous clotted blood before tightly tying a double layered shirt around it. Frank tightened the knot until Gerard's muscles protested.
They were losing daylight fast, noon came and went with their leisure. Gerard spent the time Frank took cleaning him up looking around a map of New Jersey for things to do.
"A mall could be fun." Gerard was at a loss for what they could really do, he knew he had things he wanted to do before dying, but when he sat down and tried to think of what they all were, nothing came to mind.
An old zombie game came to the forefront of Frank's thoughts, a mall scene where the two girls had fun and enjoyed life until one was attacked and bitten. He shook the imagery away.
"No malls." Gerard's lips turned up in one corner, confused but not enough to question Frank. "The mall here is just few clothing stores and maybe a handful of quarter driven rides, trust me, it's not fun." Frank tried to ease the obviously growing tension with a chuckle, but Gerard could tell it was forced.
"Since you know the area so well, Mr. New Jersey, why don't you show me whats worth seeing around here." Gerard teased Frank, but the words came out meaner than he'd meant. Frank was no longer able to hold eye contact, Gerard scratched himself to the point of bleeding again as his nervousness rose. "I'm sorry. I'm just… scared." He finally admitted past teeth that almost refused to unclench. "Where would you go when you were feeling…" Gerard mulled multiple words over his tongue. Frank waited patiently. "Overwhelmed?" Frank's chest swelled as Gerard couldn't prevent the crack of his voice.
Frank's mind filled with dark, tree ridden images immediately and he knew exactly where they needed to go. He wrapped an arm around Gerard's empty side. "Do you trust me?" Gerard grabbed the keys while Frank grabbed their weapons.
Gerard shrugged before responding, "How could I not?" Before Frank yanked open the penthouse door, he kissed Gerard roughly. Their noses fought for space in the same area, their tongues greedy for the other, hands ached as they were too full to feel around. Gerard felt sick at the absence of his missing limb. There was a desperation he couldn't satiate as his missing limb wiggled uncontrollably.
The hotel was cold as they slowly crouched their way back down to the car, the halls clear of any undead. Frank assisted Gerard into the passenger seat before rounding back behind the wheel, taking them out of Jersey City and back through the streets of Newark.
Frank stopped multiple times around the city. His first stop was at a liquor store. If the end of the world was coming, he was going out intoxicated. When they pulled in, Gerard reached over and held his right hand against Frank's bicep—it was as far as he could reach.
"Frankie, please—"
Frank cut him off, "I know what you're going to say." His eyes pleaded more than a dog begging for food. "Just… I won't do what I did before…" Frank attempted to hold their gaze, but the embarrassment about his dependencies flooded him too quickly and his face beet red, he immediately looked away. "At least we can die together if I get bit in there." Frank snapped. Gerard's hand drew away, he said nothing. Frank could hardly hold their gaze again, "Just." He stopped suddenly. A deep sigh escaped his chest. "Just… trust me…" He spoke almost under his breath, Gerard never took his eyes away. Frank couldn't meet them.
Frank pushed himself out of the Impala with nothing more say. He readied his weapon and made his way inside without looking back. The storefront had shattered windows, giving him an easy peak inside. It was dark. There was no movement. He dropped the weapon slightly after he went over the threshold and confirmed the abandonment. A couple shelves had been tipped, broken bottles and spilled liquor covered the floor, some of it already dried and sticky underneath Frank's rubber soles.
He wasted no time filling his arms with different whiskey and brandy, a vodka and rum for fun too. He grabbed whatever was still sealed and had an eye catching label.
He filled a box with his stolen goods, doing one more look around for anything worth while. When he returned to the car, he gave Gerard a goofy smile and a thumbs up before sliding his acquired goods into the back seat. Frank slid easily back behind the wheel and got them onto the road again.
Neither of them spoke for the rest of the drive.
He stopped at a gas station next, a small, boxy one that looked more run down on the outside than the inside. Leisurely, he checked the two isles before popping a malt liquor forgotten in a cooler. He chugged it down before checking the shelves absently. He was hiding from his problems and couldn't admit it to himself.
When he returned to the car with only a handful of cigarette boxes, Gerard hadn't moved. He was sitting silently in the car staring up at the sky as it grew cloudier. Frank didn't announce his return or say anything when he dumped the cigs into the liquor box in the back. He saved one and tossed it into Gerard's lap with a lighter.
"Can you light one for us?" Frank didn't look at him as he started driving again, Gerard didn't respond. He stared at the carton for a long time before he pulled it open and popped one between his lips. Frank didn't hold his hand out to ask for it until Gerard took a few hits first. The nicotine buzz brought him up from the budding, alcoholic buzz. It was a joint he craved the most, but he wanted to wait for that.
The sun wasn't quite setting, but the sky had changed a deep orange by the time Frank pulled into the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A large, dark red, brick house welcomed them as they venture between the plots of bodies. Gerard stared in awe as they passed the less fancy headstones and shedding flora.
A chain-link fence bordered the land, trees with white flowers and dead leaves drifting off the branches lined the smooth pavement, evenly planted between the sections of headstones to guide them through. A quarter of the lawn had basic flat stones alongside basic oval topped ones. Large gatherings of red and orange leaves bundled into corners between stones and chain.
The artistry behind the graves grew the further they went. Headstones instead became large statues of crosses and angels. The angels looked remembrancely down at the corpses below the overgrown grass. A long walking path led up to a neighborhood of mausoleums. One that was much larger than the rest stood tall on the top of a barely elevated hill, four others lined the walkway up alongside the same dying white flower budded trees that welcomed them through the entrance.
Frank came to a stop at the center round about where a large willow shaded them. Purple, pink, and white flowers were shriveled or crush yet still bordered each section, but the roots had clearly spread through the dirt as most graves had matching billowing petals.
Frank killed the engine. Gerard looked around in awe. Frank didn't ask for help when he grabbed his bag, or when he yanked the box of liquor from the backseat. Even with both hands full, and feeling overwhelmed, he pulled Gerard's door open on his way up the path. "Follow me." He said in passing, not even looking over his shoulder as he marched ahead.
Gerard went empty handed as he followed Frank, continuing to observe in awe as the resting sites grew more intricate and expansive the deeper into the cemetery they got.
Large stone crosses had angels staring at the sky with serene expressions, hands extended towards the clouds. Others crouched with no religious symbol, staring into the earth as if to be a comforting guardian to any stray spirits.
There were four small, quartz mausoleum buildings that lead up to one very large, very sinister, obsidian carved one with a cross one the roof that felt as if it could touch the moon. On either side of it stood a marble angel on a tall podium, covering its face with both hands as if they were crying. Both were confined between two columns that held up a small slab of roof that protected them from climate changes.
Frank pushed into the black mausoleum door with his back, giving Gerard a wicked grin as he motioned with his head to follow.
Gerard obeyed without hesitation. What he attempted to imagine wasn't even close to what he got. He assumed there would be eight, maybe twelve bodies shoved inside the walls with their miniature plaque headstones that hardly marked the inches separating each one.
Instead there were only four plaques. Two on his left and two on his right. Each side had tiny angel statues and candles scattered everywhere. They littered the floor, the window sills; it was obvious shelves were installed to hold more as wax had decades of drippage in every corner that marked each occasion someone forgot to put them out. Gerard would've assumed they were fairies if they had less clothing and smaller wings.
Gerard paid no attention to the names on the stones, he was so encapsulated by the catholic engravings he jumped when Frank kicked a few bricks in front of the mausoleum doors. He crouched to place the box on the stone walkway and quickly slid the bag off in front of him to rummage through it. Gerard wasted no time finding his spot beside Frank, he only struggled a little to plop down onto his butt and stretch out his legs.
Frank casually began to pull out snack bags, some pre-wrapped sandwiches, and canned sides like fruits and beans. He slid a bottle from the cardboard and added it to their haul. Gerard couldn't help but smile as Frank placed everything neatly in front if them, although Frank avoided looking at him, he could feel the happy warmth radiating next to him.
Once he finished unpacking, he pushed his bag away into the dew moistened grass. Frank paused for a moment to stare at the bottle he placed between them. He examined the gravestones through the brown liquid lens, lost memories of coming here as a child resurfaced regardless of what he begged his memory to leave behind.
Frank had been here multiple times for various different reasons, but most often it was to fuck around with friends. The times he remembered most were when he had to stand beside a dead family members body while holding back tears as it lowered into the ground before him.
He was thankful his last time there would be to fuck around with friends, because he was never coming back here after they left. Frank wasn’t sure when he'd decided that so firmly, but he knew if it was one of the final places he would be with Gerard, there was no way he'd be able to come again.
He cracked the whiskey, ignoring the screaming hunger of his protesting stomach, he chugged down a few gulps before offering it to Gerard. Frank coughed out the burning in his throat, his eyes squeezed tight, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
Gerard took the bottle and had a few gulps as well. He wasn't ready to accept whatever the next few days would throw at them.
Frank swayed slightly beside him, the buzz hit immediately. A giggle accidentally escaped his mouth, his eyes cast down, the sudden noise made Gerard pull the bottle away, the alcohol hit him harder, his slimmer body wasn't used to its strength, especially without food. It was only seconds before Franks shoulders were shaking and his giggles turned so aggressive they went silent. Gerard's stomach burned and twisted, but Frank's overreaction encapsulated him.
"Something funny, Frankie?" Gerard teased, nudging him with the bottle. When Frank finally looked up, Gerard's playfulness dropped as he was greeted by tears drizzling silently through a shaking grimace.
"I-I'm-I'm fine. I'm fine." He quickly choked out, unable to force a smile. But his tears dried up faster than Gerard could move to comfort him. He took the bottle back, their fingers rubbed together slightly in the exchange before he gulped down more. He coughed from the burn and, suddenly, his emotions lifted. He gestured at the food, "I pulled this out so we could eat before we got drunk but…" He left some things unsaid, a fit of giggles threatened to attack again. He bit his tongue.
"It's okay." Gerard's voice was gentle, Frank wanted to wrap himself in his words every time he spoke. "It's the end of the world, who cares what order we do things anymore?" Frank's chest squeezed and a small smile broke through as Gerard forced a chuckle. Frank couldn't tell it was forced. He offered the bottle to Gerard again, the alcohol sat heavy in his stomach.
Gerard took it again but Frank leaned in quicker, beating the drink to Gerard's mouth. Their spiced saliva mixed as their tongues invaded each others hungry mouths. There was no awkwardness between them, Frank's hand naturally lifted to hold Gerard's face.
Gerard held his grip on the bottle, but leaned into Frank's warmth. The air was crispy with a chilly wind that threw back their hair every couple of minutes. It wasn't Gerard's ideal picnic conditions but he'd been somewhat overheating since the bite, he welcomed the cooling.
Frank pulled away, Gerard chased after his mouth not ready to be apart. Using his free hand to grip Gerard's, Frank brought the bottle to his own mouth again. Gerard mimicked him, drinking down more than Frank expected— Frank didn't release his hand even when Gerard replaced the drink on the cut stone floor. Gerard took his hand instead and guided him to the growing bulge being suffocated under his jeans.
Frank opened his fist and slowly added pressure as he rubbed his way up Gerard's zipper just to pull it down once he reached the top.
Gerard grabbed Frank's face and brought their mouths together again, their tongues continued their previous dance as the rest of the world dissolved around them. Frank was frantic in his attempt at getting Gerard undressed he almost missed Gerard struggling to do the same.
Frank broke their kiss and halted his aggressive yanking at Gerard's clothes to slow down and help him with his own zipper. Gerard's face burned bright pink yet his eyes were unable to stop staring in adoration at the love of his life. Frank could feel Gerard watching their relaxed and deliberate movements.
Frank pulled Gerard's shirt off and draped his own behind Gerard before pushing him into his back. The inside of the mausoleum was strangely warm compared to the burning cold that had only started to freeze their blood. With one final peck, Frank began his descent onto Gerard's body with sloppy kisses, going around his jawline then down his neck. Gerard's head fell back and his eyes lazily looked to the dark stone ceiling. He shifted his gaze to the cloudy sky behind Frank's head while his warm mouth opened to nip Gerard's shoulder before moving across his collar bone. Gerard wanted to live in this moment forever, it felt so good he could almost forget about losing a limb.
Frank trailed down Gerard's body, the tip of his nose tickled behind each sensual touch. Gerard's hips bucked up as Frank reached the dark strip of hair that led below his waistline with his mouth.
"Sorry…" His face turned beet red and he turned away, but Frank didn't stop. He pulled Gerard's pants down alongside each kiss. Breathing heavily and kissing his dick as it tented his boxers.
A wicked smile broke Frank's face open as he watched Gerard bounce out, cock shot up tall as the buzz melted into a light drunkenness that Frank relished in.
Seeing how turned on Gerard was only make the strain holding Frank down hurt more, he pushed his own pants down to relieve the growing pain while he licked the wet hole at Gerard's tip.
"Fuck, Frankie…" Gerard moaned as his eyes fluttered shut. Frank ran his tongue around the head before licking all the way down his shaft and back up, taking him in his mouth completely after he reached the tip again. Gerard bucked up at the sudden warm wetness that encased him. Frank gagged, but didn't stop. "Fuck, I'm sorry," Gerard could hardly get the words out as Frank's head bobbed up and down, tongue wrapping from left to right as he came up again.
Frank couldn't stop his smile, he relaxed his throat and dropped his nose into Gerard's pubic hair. He attempted to respond, knowing the vibrations would drive Gerard crazy; and they did,
Gerard's hand shot to Frank's hair and held him in place while he throat fucked him through short, quick thrusts. Frank took the opportunity to slide his tongue up and down the shaft. Both of their minds were blank from pleasure, Frank loved hearing the grunts and moans Gerard sung to him as he worked, he didn't hold back as he freed his own cock and started to carefully stroke it.
Frank accidentally grated Gerard's skin was teeth as cold, wet drops hit his exposed back. Gerard yelped and released the other mans hair while Frank made a wet sound as he pulled off, "What the fuck," Frank whipped around to the still empty cemetery.
Leaves rustled by with a gust of wind. Gerard sat up on his hand, using the wall beside him to help prop him. More tiny drops hit Frank's face and arms when he looked outside.
It was snowing.
Frank held out a hand as a landing spot for the flakes. They watched together as Frank's palm slowly gathered some. When their eyes met again, neither could stifle the alcoholic giggling that erupted out of their throats, and neither was any less hard than they were before. The whiskey made the snow burn against their fiery skin.
Frank's full attention moved back to Gerard, his wicked grin returned as he admired the cock he craved. His snow-covered hand took Gerard's dick suddenly, causing him to yelp, yet he remained hard. Frank's eyes shot up, meeting Gerard's already locked ones again.
Frank bit his lip as he tested a few pumps.
Gerard's eyes, half lidded, his head hit the wall. "Fuck…" He breathed heavily. While his hand continuing to slowly pump, warming the freezing ice, Frank lashed his tongue up Gerard's stomach and nipped at his chest before grabbing him under the pits and pulling him fully into the mausoleum.
Gerard released control without a second thought, allowing his back to drag against the hard stone. His hand shot up to pull Frank onto him again.
Their mouths were desperate to forget the future and profit off their past. Hands and legs fumbled with remaining clothes. Frank pressed their cold bodies together, the warmth they created was addictive, neither could stop their hips from grinding.
They got into a rhythm rubbing their cocks together, the friction yanked at their skin but neither could care. Frank's wandering fingers gripped at Gerard's cold, exposed spots. He wanted to pull him apart and crawl inside so they could be together forever. Frank would be happy to die by Gerard's side right this second.
Gerard's hand squeezed and pulled Frank's overgrown hair, eliciting a groan every time. Precum beaded and slightly slicked them, along with their sweat, Frank could feel the budding tension growing in his groin with each thirsty thrust.
Gerard broke their sloppy kisses and spoke into Frank's neck, "Isn't dessert supposed to come after food?" His smile could be felt against his skin, hot breath pulsated with each thrust. He licked up the length of Frank's throat, a shudder ran down his spine. He couldn't hold his smile back either as he desperately kissed Gerard's head and down his face until their mouths connected again only for a few stolen moments before Frank moved again.
He peeled their sticky bodies apart, a whine crept from Gerard's throat as his hips chased the warmth Frank offered. Holding himself up by one arm, Frank took his free hand and spit in it.
Slick still from the precum and blowjob, Frank gripped Gerard's shaft just under his head and rubbed his thumb over the wet ridge. He slowly pumped down, Gerard's mouth fell open while his eyes fluttered shut.
"I'm just taking control…" Frank breathed as he positioned himself on Gerard's lap. "Like you wanted me to…"
Frank could easily line up Gerard's cock with his hole. He sat up and dropped down, preparing for the familiar stretching. He pushed the head into himself, his own dick twitched with need.
"Fuck, Frankie…" Gerard's eyes remained closed and his mouth stayed open as he huffed for each inch Frank pushed inside. "Fuck, I missed the way you feel around me…"
Frank bit his lip, accidentally hitting his prostate as he took Gerard completely. The friction burned, the stretching was too much, but the euphoria of their skin melting together in the strong heat between them even as the wind whipped snow flakes around. It made all the pain forgettable.
Frank popped up slowly, hands pushing against Gerard's chest for support. Frank couldn't hold back his own groans of pleasure as he pushed Gerard back into him again, the tip hit his prostate again. His cock jumped at their meeting, his hands tightened into fists.
Gerard gripped Frank's wrists, they locked eyes. Gerard tugged at his arm, "I love you."
Frank pushed himself almost completely off before coming down onto Gerard again. Slowly as they continued to stare at each other, both unable to hide their individual overwhelm ecstasy. "I love you." Frank huffed.
"Touch yourself again." Gerard barely spoke above a whisper, he pulled Frank's hand from his chest and licked his palm.
Frank chuckled, gathering extra spit in his mouth. He was lucky to have Gerard inside of him otherwise the cold would've shriveled him up by now. A reminding wind blew up his back, "Anything for you, sir." A smirk decorated his mouth.
Gerard's face grew pink, he mimicked the smile. "And… will you… um…" This was the first time Gerard looked away. The pink flushed darker, Frank raised a brow. Gerard took a deep breath. "Can you choke me?"
Frank's smirk opened wide as a laugh fell out, his wet hand wrapped around his dick, his dry hand closed around Gerard's throat. They silently communicated, Frank's brows rose to ask if it was okay, Gerard nodded once before Frank slowly squeezed his throat while lifting up again.
They fell into a rhythm easily, Gerard's hips moving with Frank as he bounced and stroked exactly how he needed to get himself to the end.
He wasn't sure when the alcohol cooked through his system but he felt oddly sober as he stared down at the man slowly suffocating below him with a smile on his face.
The timing was perfect. Frank squeezed the sides of Gerard's neck just enough for his face to go dark red right before they came together. Gerard buried his cock deep inside of Frank before his hips stilled. The final thrust into Frank's prostate sent him over the edge at the same time.
Frank shot hot ropes up Gerard's stomach and chest, his hand pumped slowly around the head as he squeezed out everything he could. Frank's hand loosened around Gerard's throat, he gasped in response. Both wore their bliss on their faces.
Frank lifted himself again deliberately slowly, moving his hips so when Gerard fell out, it would be onto himself. They watched each other longingly, pupils dilated. Frank dropped his hands on either side of Gerard's head, he kissed his nose before laying on top of him, squishing his semen around their skin.
"Agh, Frankie!" Gerard playfully pushed Frank without any real force, he fell into a fit of drunken giggles. The alcohol had clearly not left his body as quickly as his companions. Frank couldn't stop himself from laughing alongside him, even though his chest was full of depression that was beginning to overflow into his throat.
I can't lose you, I can't lose you, I can't lose you…
Frank giggled through the pain he struggled to push away in his post-nut clarity. But, he refused to bring it up to the one who was causing the pain, even if it wasn't his intention.
He didn't want to ruin the moment, so to block out the thoughts, he stopped Gerard's laughing with a prolonged kiss. There was still hunger in his mouth that he resisted. He still felt that need to live inside Gerard's chest so they never had to be apart again.
But he knew that was unrealistic. And he pretended to come to terms with what was most likely the inevitable, just in case their "solution" didn't work.
When Frank broke their kiss, they stared into each others eyes again with smiles on their faces. Neither attempted to push to their next event. Although Gerard had a lot he wanted to do before he died, he had decided if his final days were this over and over again until his final breath, he'd be okay with it.
"I never want to leave…" Gerard's eyes sparkled even as dusk grew. The orange outside highlighted the amber hues in his hazel eyes. "Can we just stay in this mausoleum forever?" Gerard's eyes were half lidded and glossy.
Frank couldn't hold back his tears as he smiled too. "We could stay here forever, technically, although I'm not sure who would bury us…"
Tears sprang from Gerard's too now, overwhelmed by the ecstasy and intimacy he felt intermingled so tightly for the first time.
Gerard wiped both eyes with the back of his hand, sniffling, "We can just rot here… We'll become skeletons… there could be cool photographs of us found after they figure out a cure."
Frank's heart snapped. Not only did he believe a cure was impossible, he was sure the next civilization would find their bones together and would call them brothers or friends who died while fighting for their lives.
They'd never know the words they spoke, the kisses they'd exchanged, the way Gerard was Frank's reason to live since the beginning. Their short time together already felt like a lifetime and Frank's chest squeezed knowing their story would be twisted worse than their dusty bones would ever become. He never cared about his legacy or how he was remembered, but if he got to die wrapped in Gerard's arms and were to potentially be found with him one day, he wanted the world to know they went unwillingly and in love despite the inevitable, impending doom they were quickly plummeting towards.
His throat closed up and Gerard could sense exactly what Frank was thinking. He forced a smile through his watery face, "Frank… if this," He gestured to the open space beside him. Frank sat up straight, looking down at Gerard as he awkwardly worked through his next sentence. "… Changes me… I… I want you…" Gerard struggled through the words. His voice wavered as more tears threatened to spill. He gulped it down before continuing without a stutter. "I want you to keep going. Live on without me and find a safe place… Please."
His plead was barely a beg, Frank pushed up quickly and began redressing without saying a word. He scraped up a handful of snow and cleaned the stickiness from himself.
Gerard 's dick felt the new chill instantly. The weather decided to remind Gerard then with a strong gust of wind, and another handful of snowflakes, how cold he was when he was alone. He immediately missed Frank.
"I just want you to be happy…"
"There IS no happiness without you, Gerard, so just drop it." Frank snapped at Gerard. "You're not going to die, okay? We're just going to keep going and when we die, whenever that time comes, it'll be together, okay? I'm not just going to go through this shit without you."
Frank turned his back to Gerard when he opened his mouth to respond. He quickly tightened his lips and bit his tongue before gathering his clothes up.
Frank took a few deep breathes after he got on his pants and shoes. One big gulp and he began to help Gerard, who had wiggled into his shirt and boxers already.
Frank curled up the bottoms of Gerard's jeans and positioned them in front of him so he had an easy step through. One foot, then the next, Gerard attempted to grab hold of the pants, but Frank slapped him away.
Frank looked up at Gerard from his submissive position below, so contrast to how they'd just been. Gerard looking down at him, he was reminded of the first day they met again. When Gerard had his stupid shotgun in his face.
Remember when he put it under your chin?
Frank bit his lip, fighting the horny need that immediately threatened to take over his brain again. Maybe I should shove that gun right up his—
Gerard's hand curled around Frank's chin. "You look so beautiful from this angle."
Frank's brain malfunctioned and his face burned red hot. Instead of looking away, he glared up at Gerard, which only earned him another smirk and a wink that made Frank's face hotter.
Frank didn't break eye contact as he roamed up Gerard's legs, dragging his pants up behind him. Almost immediately, Frank connected his mouth to Gerard's shins, eyes straining up as he kissed up and over his knee, then slowly up his thigh. His fingers felt electric as he slid them up with the pants.
When Frank reached the hem of Gerard's boxers, he took them in his mouth and snapped it against his leg. Gerard gripped Frank's hair and shoved his face into his cock, Frank felt it half hard against his cheek again and felt less bad for his own begging for more attention.
Gerard allowed Frank to pull away just enough to glare up at him. When he finally stood, and Gerard's pants were on, Frank shoved him backwards into the wall, pushing their hips together again.
"If you aren't careful, Way, I might put you on your knees." Gerard couldn't hold back his smile, he felt giddy, like a teenager experiencing his first sexual encounter again.
"I'm not sure how much more dick these poor ghosts want to see." Gerard giggled while thumbing backwards towards the plaques beside him.
A warm, mischievous smile spread like butter on bread across Frank's lips. "My great-grandmother was actually gay so, if she is here, she'd probably encourage us and then give us more privacy." Frank's fingers tightened around his hips.
Gerard paused, replaying Frank's words in his mind before fully processing what he said. Slowly, he turned his head to the bronze metal beside him. Betty Lynn Iero, the next line read Rosaline Ann Iero, Gerard twisted so fast back to Frank his neck cracked. "Frank… Is this…" Frank couldn't stifle his giggle. "Is this your fucking grandmothers grave?" Gerard's wide smile overtook his entire face despite hit feigned anger.
"Technically, it's my families mausoleum, thus making me a future tenet for a plot within these walls." The gestured one arm around to the dark room. Gerard realized that was why there were so little plaques. "But, yeah, my grandma and my great-grandma are inside these walls," He stuck a finger out and poked the wall next to Gerard's head. In a whisper, that ended with a giggle, he said, "I know one of them is right behind your head…"
Gerard pushed him off and scoffed, "Shut up, I can't believe we fucked on your families grave." Gerard zipped and buttoned his pants with his now free bubble of space, Frank stumbled back laughing, he yanked on his shirt and jacket.
Frank kicked away the snow that had accumulated where he was sitting before and dropped his butt onto the stone, he quickly lit a joint and retook the forgotten bottle without thinking.
Gerard did the same, but he watched as Frank replaced the bottle without taking a sip. He went for the food. A small smile crept up that he fought, not wanting Frank to stop bettering himself. Gerard hoped by the end of his time, he'd be able to convince Frank moving on was the best option.
Gerard aggressively scratched his legs, something was stuck in his jeans but he avoided digging in them with the plan of a meal happening. Frank hadn't noticed, when he offered the joint the Gerard, he tried his best not to snatch it from him to distract his fingers.
They separated the food and ate in near silence as they watched the sun set. The snow fell and clumped atop graves, weighing down flowers and tree branches. The food soaked up what liquid remained at the bottom of their stomachs. The soberness was striking, the horniness mostly disappeared, Frank waited until they finished their food before cracking the bottle again. When he offered it to Gerard, he refused.
Instead, he took Frank's wrist that gripped the bottle and yanked him into a hot, whiskey flavored kiss. He tasted the alcohol on Frank's tongue and craved it more than he was willing to admit. But he only indulged himself through the spit that they swapped.
It was finally dark when their mini make-out session was broken by Frank yanking himself away. "I love you so fucking much, Gerard…" A soft smile overtook Gerard's face, he kissed Frank. He wasn't sure if it was a response, or to prevent Frank from spiraling into another dissociative pit.
Neither wanted this to end. Frank was ready to live out their days there and decompose together after nonstop hours of sex.
But he knew that wasn't an option. And Gerard never shared that he felt the same. So, Frank pushed himself to keep going.
Gerard had taken a few more gulps off the bottle while Frank cleaned and packed up again. When they were finished, Frank offered it to him one final time before polishing it off— he crumpled the trash and placed it all into the same side pocket for when a dumpster became readily available again. Gerard admired his care for their dying world. So much hope at a time where he felt so little. Every second he was thankful to have met Frank.
They didn’t say another word until Frank finished packing. Gerard watched intently at every little motion Frank did. He was determined to memorize the fluidity that came with his partners movements no matter how mundane the activity. The way his arms flexed and his breathing pattern changed with each differently weighted object. It helped Gerard pretended the inevitable was avoidable.
"Come on," Frank's voice broke Gerard's trance. The duffel was already over his shoulder, he held out a hand for Gerard to take, something he did without hesitation. "I have more planned for you."
Gerard's cheeks burned red as the blush overtook him. Butterflies fluttered the same way Frank's did when they first met.
Gerard's soft smile glowed in the darkness, snowflakes glittered the path and their bodies. Neither wanted to discuss what was coming, so they didn't.
Instead, they made their way back to the car, hand in hand pretending this was a perfectly normal autumnal picnic that was disturbed by an early snowfall. The box was returned to the back seat, he threw his duffel in behind it. He hadn't even realized his ax had been completely forgotten until he realized it was on the floor of the car. Frank opened the door for Gerard. He gave the place one last look around, maybe he'd bring Gerard back again before the week was done. It was a nice place and, with enough pillows and blankets, he thought maybe they would be able to squat in his families tomb.
"Can I know what you're planning?" Gerard asked over the rumble of the car starting.
"That would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it?"

Put Your Head On My Shoulder
Chapter 3: Just a Kiss Goodnight
Read Chapter 3: Just A Kiss Goodnight from the story Put Your Head On My Shoulder by death_selfie (Peps) with 4 reads...
For the rest of the night, Gerard and I walked the streets of Belleville. We took a walk into town and pretended to window shop like it was midday. We even looked over the closed flower shop and maybe stole a flower or two. Outside of town, we skipped down a trail together, hand in hand. Our little journey ended at the Passaic River. Across the water, we could see the lights of Arlington. About a mile to our left was the bascule bridge. We could have gone there, but it was late and I'm sure Gerard didn't have the energy to go climb up a bridge with me.
We sat in the tall grass together on a small hill overlooking the river. Most of our chatter has been replaced by a comfortable silence by now. Exhaustion has got the best of us.
"Thank you for tonight, Frankie," Gerard murmured. This broke our silence. I shifted my gaze over to him. This exact moment brought me back to when I first met this man. The moonlight softly highlighted every sharp feature from his browline to his chin. I think I'm falling in love again.
"Of course," I replied. Oh, before I forget... I dug into the pocket of my jacket and produced the second corsage I purchased for Gerard. I took his hand so that I could slide on the corsage. It fit pretty well to my surprise.
"Oh, you-- you bought one!" He seemed genuinely surprised. He lifted his wrist slightly to view it better. I hope he noticed the flower I picked.
"I picked out the pansy," I explained. "It was the flower you liked, right?"
I never got an answer. Gerard was moved to tears at this point, but why? Was the gesture too nice?
"Gerard?"
Still no answer. Instead, I received a tiny cry.
"No one has ever been this nice to me."
Those words struck my heart. No one? I moved closer to him and took his hand into mine. As I laced our fingers together, he brought his gaze onto me. "I've lived the cliche unpopular high school life. I wasn't like the other guys, you know? I liked art, I liked music, I liked fashion. To this old-school town, I was just some weird kid, some outsider. I never felt like I belonged. On top of that, I could never find any friends. My only friend was my brother. He's younger than me, about 3 years. Only he understood me and liked the things I liked. And since I never had friends, I never got a girlfriend. I had thought girls never liked me, so maybe...maybe boys did. That was a mistake on my part," He frowned now and looked away. "Those idiotic jocks...you don't want to know what they did." His brows knit together. Whatever they did, it must've been an awful experience. I squeezed Gerard's hand. "It's why I dropped out early and became the mess I am today. I mean...look at me—" He gestured over himself with a disgusted look. "I'm wearing a skirt! Only girls wear skirts."
As soon as those words left his mouth, I shook my head. "We can wear skirts too," I said calmly. "Besides, I think it fits you. You look stunning." Gerard looked me in the eye again. This time something completely new was on his face. Was that love?
"I can't possibly look great," He muttered. Oh, what will it take to get through his thick skull? I was done with the "attempts" and the questioning. I wanted to feel something new. I'm sick of the doubt and worry that always held me back. This time I'm going all in. I gave Gerard's hand another squeeze as I leaned over to plant a soft kiss on those lips I had always stared at.
Kissing another man was different than I'd imagine. I always thought it would be the same as kissing a woman, but boy was I wrong. It almost felt as if I were kissing myself. Gerard wasn't just any normal man though. His lips felt soft yet a little on the wetter side. It's like they've never seen a chapped day. The only strange part about this was that it felt completely natural. I thought that if I gave in, the Heavens would open above us and the angels would smite us for a homosexual act. However, that never happened.
I parted our kiss now, and as I sat back, I noticed Gerard has been moved to tears. He was happy though. He wore a thin, curved smile at me, and it felt genuine. At that moment, I felt as if my feelings have finally been reciprocated.
"Where have you been my entire life?" He whispered. "I wish I knew you before..."
"Me too." My answer surprised me. For some reason, I did wish I had met Gerard before all of this. Though tonight was magical, I wished we had more time together.
Gerard let my hand go so that he could cup the side of my face. He still wore that thin smile. His eyes glanced over every feature of me. "You're always saying I'm beautiful, but I think you're the beautiful one, Frankie. You don't give yourself enough credit."
"Neither do you."
He laughed softly. "Oh, there's nothing to like about me," He said. Now his eyes focused on mine. "If only I could draw you right now. I think you'd see how beautiful you are then."
How I wish we could stay in this moment forever. I would be happy to escape the daily hustle and bustle of my everyday life to live a more carefree life with Gerard.
"Do you have a place?"
"Of course I do!" Gerard laughed at my question. "Do you think I just roam the streets like a homeless person?"
I blushed, embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." Gerard waved me off as if to dismiss my apology. He stood up now, but our hands were still holding one another. Not a word escaped his lips as he led me back into the heart of Belleville. We took all sorts of twists and turns on the streets before coming across a small, rundown neighborhood. Although its appearance wasn't the best, it also wasn't the worst neighborhood in Belleville. It was livable, and that was all that could be said about this part of town.
Alas, we reached the place Gerard has been leading me too. Appearance-wise, I could tell it was in a much better condition than the other homes we passed. It had a new coat of paint on its siding and front porch. The roof looked reshingled as well. I took notice that the lawn was freshly mowed too. At least some people had some decency.
I followed Gerard up to the porch. Before we stepped inside though, I took a hold of Gerard's arm. "Is anyone else staying here?" I needed to ask in case I had to introduce myself.
"Yeah, just my brother," He assured. "I'm sure he's just sleeping right now though." With those words hanging in the air now, he stepped into the house and led me through the hallway to his room. Once inside, I closed the door behind me as softly as I could. Near the bed, Gerard shimmied off his skirt and grabbed a pair of raggedy jeans off his bed. There was an assortment of different clothes scattered on his bed. Something about it was more artistic than messy.
"Sorry for the mess," Gerard said quietly. "I'm not really tidy."
"Me neither," I smiled. An effort to reassure him. I took a seat next to him on the bed and took a glance around the room. His room isn't really that bad. I think it's comfortable. Of course, it could use some cleaning. I rested my gaze on Gerard now and gave him a smile again.
"Did you wanna sleep?" He blushed, his head ducking slightly. I could tell he felt awkward, and honestly, I did too. "Sure," I said. "I can sleep on the floor if you want."
"No, it's fine," He blurted. "I mean, my bed's big enough anyway." He got himself situated underneath the bed covers. His eyes met mine afterward, and he raised a brow. Taking the cue, I shrugged off my jacket and untied my tie. When I felt I was comfortable enough, I crawled over to the other side of the bed and laid down. We were both turned on our sides to where we were looking at each other. There was silence for about a good minute until he spoke up.
"I wonder how Mikey's gonna react to you," He said with a growing smile.
I shrugged my shoulder and I gave him a slight smile. "I don't know, maybe he'll like me."
"Heh, well, he's shy, so talk carefully."
I nodded. We fell into another silence but it was more comfortable than awkward. I wasn't sure when I dozed off...

I just uploaded my first chapter of my first fic ever! It’s a legally blonde frerard AU with Frank as Elle, and Gerard as Emmett. I have two awesome betas, @homosexual-having-tea here on tumblr, and @deninitelynotgay on ao3, so I’d love if you guys checked it out!

AU idea #2
“Trade Hearts”
(I’ve come to a conclusion that there’s no unawkward way to put it, so here it is: by summary I mean what I’d put in the summary box if it were an actual fic.)
Vaguely rhymed summary:
impoverished creatures stretch their ashen hands
from jagged snarling crevice while we struggle
through spit and smoke and blood
and with our hearts at stake
I think that we should learn to trade, not take
So I’m still not quite sure how I’m going to handle this thing, but for now, theoretically, each AU should have a name, a summary, and other random fun stuff like dialogues, snippets of text, AU-specific headcanons, art maybe.
