Question for dogblr
My service dog Pascal is a 75 lb labrador x golden retriever. He’s had a lot of issues with puking and such so I’ve had him on quite a few different foods. Most recently (about 2 weeks ago) I switched him to a roll food called FreshPet. He seems to like it and so far things are going well. I have been feeding him 1.5 lbs split between 2 meals a day as per recommendation by the brand. However, doing some poking around tonight I found that the company claims the calorie content to be only 300 kcal per 1/2 pound. Could this be right? That’s only 900 calories a day! Shouldn’t he be eating 1300-1500? Any info and advice would be much appreciated.

Freshpet Q3 2025: Improved Quarter However Cautious Outlook
Good stuff, hoping there’s nothing but good coming out of this new addition to my diet!
I’m getting old, going on 14 in October. I’ve lost a lot of weight the past year. So I’m trying something new! I’ve always had dry dog food and scraps from my woman, but now I am trying to add some wet food into the diet as well as some extra vitamins. Let’s give it a shot. For dinner this morning (since my woman works nights), I had 1/4 slices of of Freshpet. It was good, so let’s see how this goes and if I can beef up a bit this year!
I am guessing I’m about 30lbs approximately. In 2021, I was at about 50-60lbs. I know I won’t get to that point, but I am aiming for at least 15lbs gain.
