Most of the team already left when this photo was taken but I’m so honoured to be a part of this @wsl event. My favourite part (aside from the surfing) was the @wslpure portion of it. They were very conscientious of their waste. No single use plastic was permitted in the venue which is an unfortunately rare rule onsite. I hope more events follow suit. Big ups to @alex___weber, @ethan.estess.art.science, and team for collecting almost 50,000 golf balls hiding in Pebble Beach between 2016-2018. The plastic they are made out of was slowly leaking poison into our marine life as they deteriorated on the sea bed. They made this sculpture out of 20,000 golf balls to draw attention to how much trash and plastic is carelessly thrown into the ocean and how toxic it is.
