— Three Months Later —
After Freya and Aidan’s first blind date, they hit it off swimmingly, and Aidan couldn’t deny how unique and beautiful Freya truly is, inside and out. Knowing his own personality and being his own downfall, he knew he shouldn’t continue to talk/date the other. Although Aidan found himself continuing to reach out to her, going out with her more often, and the next thing he knew - they started dating; without putting specific labels on them, but they were exclusive. Either way, the fact that she could so easily peel back enough layers to make him budge and admit that he genuinely likes her in more than a friendship way - it was an impossible feat that was accomplished quickly. Effortlessly on Freya’s part, but of course, Aidan was still afraid of being his father’s son. Granted, cheating isn’t genetic, but it ran in the Wisklin men line - his father wasn’t the first Wisklin man to cheat on their spouse. Maybe the Wisklin men were just cursed? Sure, he didn’t know if his father cheated on his late wife, but it wasn’t as if he was going to call her up and ask. Ergo, he wasn’t going to risk being another Wisklin man to cheat on their significant other. Not to mention his mission to finding a way to ‘better’ depressants took up most of his life. Although Aidan’s brain seemed as if it wanted to prove the negative parts of his brain wrong — Aidan would text Freya every morning and every night, plan dates with her when he took a break from exploding his mind with dead-end breakthroughs. Freya Woods made him feel alive again, and he wasn’t kidding when he said that he genuinely enjoyed her company. Whenever they were physically together, he dreaded when they had to say goodnight to each other. Of course, however, all good things must come to an end. Three or so months after their first amazing blind date and being exclusive, he went back to his old self and became a little more distant from Freya; he could see her trying to help him and making an effort to be his shoulder to cry on simply, but to Aidan - he’s just a lost cause. Freya deserves better than him; she deserves the world and more and deserves someone who can give that to her - not someone like him. The only thing he could remember from the last time they saw one another was watching her walk away, taking a piece of him with her. It’s only been - well, he wasn’t sure if it was only a few days later, a week or two later, but whenever he found himself having a second to himself - his mind slipped to the time he and Freya shared. He still deeply cares about her, and there have been times where he wanted to send her a morning text just to check in on her but found himself quickly erasing it and locking his phone. This day it just seemed as if Aidan wasn’t able to get her out of his mind, and when he locked up his office, he blanked out as his mind took over his hands and feet to Freya’s apartment. Before he knew it, he was standing in front of her door about to knock, but then he came to his senses and drew back his hand, but now he was in a battle with his brain, and it was as if he was stuck in place. Aidan didn’t necessarily knock on her door, but he couldn’t move his own feet either.
