TL;DR Version: The fried shrimp po-boy from FSU Baseball concessions suffers from a poor bread:shrimp ratio and a lack of any sauce. The seasoned fries taste like they’re heavily seasoned with salt instead of any Cajun spices. Full Review: In honor of the start of the college baseball season and all the new concessions options FSU Baseball has to offer, I’m going to review every entree that’s been added to the menu for 2018. For opening day, I decided to start with the Shrimp po-boy since it isn’t traditional concessions fare and it’s the first Friday of Lent. For $10 you get about a 9” fried shrimp po-boy and a side of seasoned fries. The shrimp are predictably small, though breaded in a slightly spicy batter so they’re reasonably satisfying on their own. Unfortunately, they are on a massively deep sub roll so you have to take a bite of nothing but bread after each bite of shrimp just to keep up with the sandwich. Even that wouldn’t be as big a problem as it is but for the total lack of sauce, guaranteeing each bite of bread is totally flavorless. As for the fries, they look exactly like the fries from Gordo’s, but they are extremely salty without tasting at all like the seasoning looks. Even if there wasn’t a $10 price tag on it, I’d rather have a basic hot dog. #FSUBaseball #FastFoodie #InstaReviews #ShrimpPoBoys #SkinnyFries #ConcessionStandFood #FriedFridays #FSUConcessions
