Belated RCCC Debrief: Day 1

Last weekend, @tundra-tiger and I got to go to Rose City Comic Con, and it was a lot of fun!

I wasn’t able to get there until 6:20, since I got out of work late (#teacherlife) and had to drive a few hours, but I was able to get a parking spot near the convention center. I was going to meet Tiger there, and at first, I totally didn’t recognize them -- they had surprised me by putting together a Eurydice cosplay!

Even though we were only at the convention center for an hour and a half, a few people recognized us and stopped for photos. I got to sing at one person...but between allergies, the first week of teaching, and Very Strong Performance Anxiety, my voice cracked a little... We also got to trade flowers with a cosplayer who was handing out blue roses.

I’m definitely looking forward to practicing guitar more and doing this cosplay again sometime!

The second part of the cosplay photo shoot with Tiger and @linkhecometotown (photographer and SFX make-up artist extraordinaire) -- AKA “Sometimes, it’s nice to pretend that TMA isn’t a horror podcast”. We ended up having an action-packed day -- I nearly destroyed Tiger on a hike in the morning (I tend to go at Terminator speed, promise to slow down, then proceed to not slow down), then we went into town to get ice cream. Tiger ended up being out of commission from a migraine for awhile, but they were kind enough to still cosplay with me in the evening. Even though we didn’t find any good cows, I know some people who own sheep, which were a good substitute. We ended the evening by watching a movie outdoors with the sheep-owning friends and stargazing.

Tiger and @linkhecometotown came to visit me a few weeks back, and we were able to do a few cosplay photo shoots (thanks to Link for being our intrepid photographer!). I’d told Tiger stories about the Incredibly Creepy Treehouse In the Woods Down The Road That Keeps Accumulating Random Animal Bones, and they decided it was the perfect place for a quick Gravity Falls shoot. (And yes, we made it out of the woods safe and sound after taking these pictures.)
