We don't deserve dogs

So I have really bad sleep paralysis which causes me to wake up in a panic during the night.

Every time I wake up though, whether it be from sleep paralysis or just normal waking up, my dog is always there by me. When he sees me move and my eyes are open, he will run up too me and be really excited.

After he just stands there for a couple of minutes of getting pet, he will lay by me and cuddle next to me until I either fall back asleep or get up for the day.
