"Frieren."
Her name leaves his lips as naturally as a breath of fresh air; filling his lungs with a familiar warmth that had been settled there for the last ten years of his life. Though they had just parted ways, the mere minutes of her absence seemed to resonate in Himmel stronger than he could put into words; unable to help but wonder just how the passage of time would wind their fates away from each other, and how long it would be until they would diverge again. Their journey, her presence-- they had been a constant to the hero for what seemed like so long to him.. and he knew it would be quite the adjustment to live without her, and the others.
Though, every story was meant to have its ending-- and all things considered, Himmel was happy at how theirs had finished. Finally defeating the Demon King, bringing an era of peace to the land.. truly, what else could he have asked for? Those things were once his greatest dream, and with the help of his friends, it had finally become a reality well worth the wait.
.. but there was no denying how that happiness had bloomed by tenfold, just by being by her side again. A selfish thought he would tuck away within the depths of his heart, for however long he was granted this chance.
"So you ended up here, too. I had a feeling that might be the case," he spoke with a smile, brightening the blues of his eyes as he laughed, ever so softly. "It seems adventure couldn't wait to take hold of us again, hm? I wouldn't be surprised if Eisen and Heiter followed us here-- we should try and find them before any trouble does."
