Fright Fight | Neven & Wren
It was a slow day and Wren didn’t have much of anything to do. She was bored and nothing was good about a bored bear. Her hallmates were used to the pranks she pulled on them, but Wren knew you shouldn’t shit where you eat. So, she took the to streets, doing jump scares on unsuspecting Creekers. Really they should have been suspecting it, things were weird in Ashkent. It would help to always be on guard. She went into clothing stores and jumped out from a large rack of clothes, startling customers, often resulting in her being kicked out. Rude. They just didn’t appreciate her pranking. It was good to get the blood pumping. Not that they ever appreciated it, though. Just like her mother.
Oh well, that wasn’t really important right now was it? She focused on where to set up next. A lot of pranks were better when there was more than one person with you, but you don’t put an ad out for a prank partner. Or do you? She should ask Eloise next time, she had a nice sense of humor that would do well with pranks. Wren enjoyed doing pranks when she was younger with her group of friends.
Wren tried doing an oldie but goodie, waiting for people to walk by and then screaming at them, but that wasn’t always good and that was kind of simple and boring. It was funny, but Wren wanted to put more effort this time. She pulled out a pack of her fake blood, which reminded herself she needed to go to the shop and buy some more, her supply was running low. It was okay to use illusions to create blood, but that was always draining, especially when it was creating blood out of nothing. At least with the fake blood she could make it look a little realistic with an illusion, but it was always hard to do it when she had no blood around her. That and she kind of liked how it felt.
Peeking at the corner, she saw someone coming down the street. He wasn’t looking in her direction, but he would be her next victim. She ripped open the packet with her teeth and spat out the piece of plastic. She squirted some on her shirt and hands before taking a blood capsule and placing it between her teeth. She could hear him coming closer now. Smearing some blood on her lower mouth and she was now ready. She had begun creating an olfactory illusion, the smell of blood, of rotten flesh. Disgusting, honestly. The blood capsule popped in her mouth and she timed it so that right as he walked by, she snarled and reached out to him, grabbing for his shoulders and opening her bloody mouth in his direction.
Already she could fear his fear coming from him, so, she couldn’t help but feed from it a bit, she wasn’t hungry so it didn’t matter. However, he did something she didn’t expect and she didn’t see him winding back until it was too late.
Wren was used to her share of punches but being caught off guard caused her to stumble back and blink rapidly, wondering what the hell just happened. “Dude, what the hell,” she muttered, spitting out the fake blood from her mouth, not sure what blood was fake and what was real, but the pain radiated across that whole side of her face. She wiped her face with the back of her hand, spitting once more. “It was just a joke.”
