I have to decide by November 27th if I think I can write a whole solo show by the end of May.
Snags: I’m moving across the country in the spring, I have never written for stage, I have never performed or toured solo, as soon as I sit down to write I feel like I have nothing to say.

What is a Fringe Festival?
If we take a look back in history, the first ever recorded Fringe Festival was in 1940. A group of artists wanted to ride on the wave of the success of the Edinburgh Festival since they themselves did not have enough resources to apply. As a result, they set up their own shows outside (or on the fringe) of that festival. Since then, fringe theater has come to represent shows that are experimental in style and subject matter, paving the way for uncensored content and artistic freedom. Festivals have popped up all around the world because they have lower production costs, which allow many artists to participate.
Generally, Fringe Festivals have a few things in common with one another aside from the above: low ticket prices to be more accessible to audiences, ticket sales go directly to artists, shows are largely original material, tech is minimal and run time is limited.
The Working Perception fits in nicely into the anything goes atmosphere of the Fringe as it is a solo-performance rock musical that rides the line between absurdity, frustration, and humor. Where else can you have your socks rocked off while watching a show about jobs and work?
