Taking Wing: The end is nigh for Michael Sheen and David Tennant’s fantasy drama
TV & Streaming Week 9-15 May 2026
A final epic battle to save the world awaits in the swansong to Prime Video’s Good Omens.
The fantasy sagas feature-length third instalment finds finicky angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) now in Heaven after he agreed to leave behind his London bookshop and become the Supreme Archangel.
Meanwhile, renegade demon Crowley (David Tennant) — who has forged a bond with Aziraphale over the centuries, which has turned from rivalry to friendship and then tantalising romance — is struggling on Earth and feels abandoned.
“Crowley has hit rock bottom”, says Tennant, 55. “Friendless, car-less, and hopeless. He’s sleeping in an old sleeping bag in an alleyway. He’s a free agent now and bears no allegiance to Heaven, Hell, or anyone else. But he’s not in a great place.”
HOPE FOR HUMANITY
Aziraphale, however, is busy organising the Second Coming and, to the chagrin of some of his fellow angels, he is keen to make it a gentle, hopeful affair rather than an apocalyptic one.
But difficulties arise when bewildered young Jesus (Bilal Hasna) goes AWOL on Earth, and as further strange events start to occur, including the disappearance of the Book of Life, can Aziraphale and Crowley reunite to ensure the best outcome for humanity and also rebuild their own broken relationship?
The one-off finale sees Mark Addy as card sharp Harry the Fish and Sean Pertwee as gangster Brian Cameron, plus Toby Jones and Tanya Moodie as mysterious but pivotal figures.
And both Sheen and Tennant hope that the conclusion will be a fitting one for the show's legion of fans.
“One of the extraordinary things is the audience. You have to take it seriously because people get affected by it. So I’m sure this will be a satisfying experience”, shares Sheen, 57.
“There will be bits you love and things you’ll argue about.”
