Frithian, also known as suptilifrith, is a multigender in which one only experiences genders that are in some way connected to womanhood, manhood, femininity, or masculinity, and never abinary genders.
A gender that feels playful, childlike and/or performative.
Playgender might pertain to one's gender being light-hearted and childlike.
It might also pertain to experiencing one's gender as being somewhat performative, something one plays with, or perhaps plays a role, that they might still relate to and identify with.
It might relate to neurogender when it comes to the feeling of a gender not being inherent, or having been learned, acquired and/or relating to a gender through performing it, or watching it be performed in fictional settings, such as TV shows, cartoons and movies.
Performing does not necessarily means consciously performing one’s gender, but having related to it through performance, whether it be yours or others’, and can serve people who relate to femininity and/or masculinity as a part of their gender identity, but only in a playful and light-hearted way, such as when a child plays a character in make-believe, or a person plays a character in a video-game. That identity can still be very close to one’s experience with their own gender(s).
Playgender can be used as a xenogender label, or as a way to explain one's relationship with their gender.
If preferred, one can call themselves playfeminine or playmasculine, playneutral or however the microlabel might best describe their experience. One can have multiple genders and still identify as playgender.
Playgender was created to conjoin some of my labels. I am neurodivergent and frithian (experience femininity and masculinity), as well as fluid. I relate to certain xenogender labels, but never found the one I really liked. This is the one.
The flag colors mean:
Blue and pink for masculinity and femininity, and the experiences and genders that align with those concepts.
Lime yellow for genderneutral and agender identities, as well as xenogenders that do not pertain to masculinity or femininity.
Orange for playfulness and playing, or experiencing one’s gender in a playful way.
