It’s a haunting, a love story, and a mystery all rolled into one midsized southern mansion—with the rapid stacking of love story upon love story into a disorderly Jenga tower. Polly’s the protagonist, so she knows she should be falling head over heels for the gruff, handsome caretaker. And she is, but she’s also falling in love with a dead man who used to sing her to sleep. The “gruff, handsome caretaker,” has never not been in love a day in his life, and Polly has to wonder where she's supposed to fit in all this. Why are there so many goddamn people in her love story? It is hers, right?
