Ik people hate on new Linkin Park and love to say stuff like "why didn't they just make a new band?", but I'm sitting here listening to the emptiness machine, and this is actually peak Linkin Park. Not because it's their best song or anything. It's because it does an excellent job of fulfilling the Linkin Park song role of being possible to interpret in any way. The emptiness machine could literally be about anything at all: captialism. having a job. learning how to do something you're bad at while people make fun of you. being in high school. my old roommate. uhhh social anxiety. social media. autistic masking. adhd meds. my parents. being trans. religious trauma. The list goes on and on.
