The Reality Check
College hit different.
First year: Anatomy, physiology, microbiology. I questioned everything. Was I smart enough? Could I handle the pressure?
Second year: Clinical rotations began. First day in the hospital, I was terrified. My hands shook while taking vitals. A senior nurse smiled and said, "We all started here."
The turning point: Realizing that everyone struggles initially. Growth comes from pushing through the discomfort.
Key lesson: Competence comes with practice, not perfection.
The Breakthrough
Third year changed everything.
I found my passion in the ICU. The intensity, the quick thinking, the life-and-death decisions—it all clicked. I wasn't just a student anymore; I was becoming a healthcare professional.
The moment: A patient thanked me for staying during his panic attack. "You made me feel safe," he said. That's when I knew I belonged here.

The First Job
