Lady Umbra Val Kyria putting ornaments and beads in her daughter Seph’s hair. Family heirlooms and new ones she commissions from local and off-planet merchants.
The day Seph is forced to take them out, she decides to change her name. She’s no longer Seph. No, she’s Sil’Rava, because Seph died the day they took the one last connection to her mother from her. She fights to be able to keep the ornaments and beads. She keeps them in a pouch at her belt, next to one of her lightsabers.
It’s one of the few things she’s allowed to keep when the Jedi wipe her mind. They consider taking from from her, but her reaction is so afraid, so fearful, that they decide to let her keep them.
What they don’t know is that each one is connected to a message, tucked away into the back of her mind. Waiting for the day they can leak out. After all, Lady Umbra Val Kyria is a Sith. Even with her death, she’d have made sure her daughter could continue working to slowly but surely turn a planet to their cause.
