Recipe: Oven Steak Fries

My adorable husband has been on a french fry kick lately.  Because I love him and often spoil him, I made steak fries in the oven!  Since they were such a big hit, I thought I'd share my little recipe with y'all! :D

Ingredients: 

1-2 lbs. potatoes (I used russet)

1 Tbsp. oil (I used vegetable oil)

salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder (to taste)

*Optional: 1/4 tsp. cayenne for a little kick

1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2) Peel and cut potatoes in half lengthwise.

3) Continue cutting halves into fries about 1/2" to 1" thickness (whatever you prefer).

4) Toss potatoes in oil and seasoning until well coated.

5) Spread fries on a large cookie sheet (just to be safe, I spray mine with cooking spray in the event that the potatoes weren't coated as well as I'd like).

6) Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.  

This is how mine turned out tonight!

They aren't too crispy since they are thick but you can always cut them a little thinner if you like (make sure to adjust time accordingly)!

While they are pretty awesome on their own, we usually toss some cheddar on top and pop them in the microwave until the cheese melts.  You can also add a bit of crumbled bacon for extra yum!  They taste best when served with either ranch dressing or sour cream.
