Heh, in the knickers, no less. X’3 Heyo, I’m definitely down to doing another shipping meme, especially when it’s about the ultra royal couple of MK:
Who cries when someone dies in a movie – Normally these two are quite stoic, but if one had to become emotionally invested in the character, especially if it’s the partner or child of the protagonist, then it’s Hanzo who cries. Similarly, if it’s a sibling or best friend that dies, then it’s Kuai.
Who wears the ugly holiday garb – Both, if only out of common courtesy because Johnny Cage sends them those festive sweaters as a gift to wear to his holiday bashes. Trust Subby to cheer up a grumpy Scorpy by telling him that he looks cute in his sweater (which has a picture of a flaming lump of coal on the front, and the words “Guess who’s been a naughty boy?” written underneath).
Who pays for the meals – Both either take turns, or they split the costs evenly. They prefer to dine out at places located in quiet areas, where they can eat light meals, indulge on light alcoholic drinks, and just enjoy each other’s company in peace. Perhaps they both prepare a picnic once in a while in the Fire Garden, while Kuai prepares the tea.
Who slams the oven door and who plays the trombone – Neither. They won’t stoop to Johnny’s level of immaturity, nope.
Who brings home stray animals – Hanzo. His heart can’t bear to see abandoned and/or injured animals suffering (including wild animals like squirrels and birds). With the help of Kuai (whose heart also goes out to loveless animals), he takes care of them until homes can be found for them, or until they’re ready to released back into the wild. He probably adopts a dog or cat if he grows especially attached to it.
Who leaves the bathroom door open – Neither. They value their privacy.
Who tells the ‘dad jokes’ – I think Subby does try, albeit very rarely, and when he does, Scorpy is left cringing, sighing and grumbling things like, “Honestly, Kuai, you spend far too much time in that dratted Cage’s company.”
Who wants kids more – Both are daddy father material, and they each value the younger members of their respective clans as if they were their own children (just ask Takeda and Frost). I can see either of them wanting a child together, whether it be adopted or, God willing, through surrogacy. Otherwise, they’re in no rush at all to have children.
Who travels more – Hanzo and Kuai are both home-bodies more than anything. Still, if they are on the go, they will travel between each other’s temples, catch up with Raiden at the Sky Temple, or visit friends/allies like Johnny, Sonya, Kenshi and Takeda.
Who spends more cash – Do they need cash? Neither of them really spend a lot of money, except for items like amazake and tea, or when they dine out once in a while.
Who buys the things in infomercials – Neither, because they won’t spend their money on needless items. Of course, if it’s Johnny’s birthday, then trust Kuai to persuade Hanzo that buying a shake weight (as seen on TV) for their friend is a good idea.
Who draws in the dust on their cars – If they had cars, then neither. They’d keep their rides clean at all times.
Who starts the snowball fights – “Kuai, don’t you dare –” POW! Subby is quite playful when it comes to snowball fights. He tries to get Scorpy to loosen up and have fun. And he sometimes lets the Shirai Ryu win once in a while.
Who throws away the directions to things – Neither. They’re too disciplined for this life to do such a dumb thing.
Who puts up holiday decor – Both. Whether it be celebrating Chinese holidays or Japanese festivals, both Kuai and Hanzo put a lot of effort into putting up the appropriate decor at either/both the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu Temples. It’s a joint effort that allows them to bond over traditions and customs, and to learn about and appreciate each other’s heritages.
Who is more likely to forget to bathe – Oh no, not these two. They’re all about cleanliness. After a sparring session, they might even bathe together.
Who gets more obsessed about things – They are both pedantic about honour, morals, punctuality and order. On a personal level, protecting each other and sustaining their relationship are extremely important to these two.
Who sings in the shower more often – Probably Subby, and it’s more of a deep and satisfied hum, if only because the heat of the water reminds him of his lover’s warmth. And if Scorpy hears him, he’ll probably break into a little smile.
