What happens when you have a name that seems perfectly reasonable in your home country, but raises a sympathetic smile when you're abroad? BBC Europe Correspondent Kevin Connolly has been finding out the hard way.

Apparently in France there’s this idea that people named Kevin are kind of dumb? 

I have many a thought that I cannot decide on: - Kevin has one awkward first time abroad and insists henceforth on being ‘Dr. Cozner’ whenever he’s there (and has to cut people off before they use his actual name) - Holt does go over to find him mid-sabbatical and Kevin doesn’t tell him he’s been going by Alexandre as an alias while teaching abroad, it’s just easier, and Holt is miffed, both at seeing him give in to social pressure *and* seeing as Kevin is the cute name he calls his husband, he’s fond of it or - has some ‘I’m Spartacus’ moment where his students abroad decide it’s not dumb
