Story:

Stumppaw was found when his mother, Lilywater the Riverclan warrior, dumped him on Shadowclan territory next to the Carrionplace after he was born a moon too soon.

He wouldn’t have been found at all, but, as the whole Clan was about to find out, Stumppaw was very loud when he wanted something. A patrol found him and took him in, where Redears, his foster mother, took care of him.

When he reached apprentice age, he begged and begged Fennelstar to let him be the medicine cat apprentice, but to his dismay, he was made Frondecho’s apprentice instead.

The other apprentices of the time-- all from one litter-- made fun of him for wanting to be the medicine cat, bullying him every day until he had enough.

Foxpaw always left a nice large meal outside the apprentice den for breakfast-- to share with his littermates-- so Stumppaw filled the rabbit with deathberries and waited.

One after the other, they died painfully, and Stumppaw thought he had created the perfect crime. Until Frondecho grabbed him by the neck and shook him until his vision went black.

I’m trying to remember who it was that I made that killed kits because their pranks accidentally killed her son and she wanted revenge

cause I think she’d get along with Frondecho, aka the dad who killed a kit because they had killed his kits (only his kits were the bullies and her son was a bully victim)

Fun fact: Frondecho, if he finds out that he has a dark kit, is a very good dad to her. He doesn’t particularly care for Mouseshell tho, and often refers to her as his ‘kit raising associate’

honestly she’d find that name hilarious and refers to him as the same

If Moonshadow ever has kits, his first question is not ‘are they ok?’ It is ‘are they pretty like me?’

since cats can have multiple fathers in a litter and Mouseshell was a player, chances are both Moon and Frondecho could be the fathers….and that Mouseshell doesn’t really know. She might notice some shared features, but I don’t think she would care enough to really pay attention

Just got inspiration to jot down name meanings for my clan cats:

Bristleblaze: named bc of his fluffy fur, and because he gets pretty intense (like a fire)

Cryfeather: cries a lot and is very delicate (by Shoreclan standards)

Stumppaw: has a stumpy lil tail

Hawkwhistle: She’s very regal, but also has a touch of asthma so she ‘whistles’ sometimes

Mousespot: small and has spots of white

Frondecho: when he was born, he was curled up like a fern frond, and when he grew up, he followed his mate around like an echo

Heronclaw: seen as imposing and has anger issues (hence the claw prefix)

Ivyspots: named bc she clings to other cats like ivy, and she also has white spots

these are all so amazing, Frondecho's is just adorable!

@liberhoe, Stumppaw definitely has frequent nightmares (mostly about Frondecho yelling at him)
