2026?
Starting Tumblr only as I'm about to finish my teenage years feels somewhat performative, but also kind of fun, knowing that maybe some people I know use this platform to explore their interests. In general, I find it annoying how the majority of our generation thinks it's cringe to be involved in fandoms or so-called "nerdy" interests (lets not even talk about how people romanticise that shit cause it's a topic for a different day).
anyways, I'm new to this shit, but I always wanted to have a blog so I guess having this account when I am close to my 18th birthday would atleast be something to archive some of my many thoughts and experiences of being a teen in this generation.
This year, weirdly already feels like this massive impending doom upon us. Maybe its just me 🤷♀️
Being in Year 13 (senior year for the fellow Americans) has made me realise that I, in fact, am going to have a lot of responsibilities coming my way the moment I step out of college, of course, there will be my massive summer break (nearly 3 months cause my last exam is like the first week of June) But then Uni is going to start. And like overall, year 13 feels like my mind is going through 2x speed, assignments coming left and right, thinking about a driver's license, going through identity crises every time you feel something off about yourself. 2026 feels like I can actually sort myself out after all the years of puberty, personal life changes, and the constant routine changes (like damm, can I at least have one thing in control?) Its a time in my teenage years that made me realise a lot of things about life like: how everything is ephemeral (not permanent - IF anyone finds this blog I can write something about this)
how family life isn't perfect despite what you see in your friends houses (the idea that we all want to have a perfect life but somtimes life takes its course and we cant all just pretend that everything is fine)
friendships will fade and sometimes you have to let them go and accept its fate
sexuality is fucking confusing and no matter what people tell you its not something you choose
religion is complex and something that should be deemed personal and not something to combine with social media or politics (despite it sometimes having )
life IS tough and social media is really destroying the minds of our generation but trying to sugar coat everything and force perfect influencers onto feeds for children to then believe to think that its real.. (like yeah some of it is real but only because they're hella rich)
ANYWAYS.. I doubt anyone will read this but if you did then HEY thankyou! and if you did somewhat relate to any of this in anyway then maybe give me a follow lol..
ts got me feeling like stan from dog with a blog 😭😭😭
