I’m not happy with the legs exactly, but meh

Do you remember the soft words

 Whispered in cool dark rooms

Smoke hanging heavy in the air 

 The soft promises of comfort that was never felt? 

 I remember my eyes glazing as I overthought colors and the way the light merged with them 

 Air too cool for your skin as you tried to rush me back in 

 But I've always loved the blues of night that I thought I could only find outside

 But then I spent my days with others and found the same comforting blues in the TV's flicker the sound off so we could giggle, 

I found them in that kitchen when all the rest are off and my footsteps still don't sound like an intruders, 

i found them in the whispers of laughter until tears and the knowledge that my tears won't be discouraged. 

 I never knew I was in love with all the things that were hidden away
