hello! i'm a new studyblr, and i really love your blog (so aesthetic wow) i was wondering if you had any tips for studyblrs just starting out? i'm sorry if this is awkward!
hey kali!! thanks so much ♡♡ no worries, you’re not awkward at all :) welcome to the studyblr community! my tips for new studyblrs:
of course, make sure that you are managing your time wisely. you don’t want your blog to become a distraction.
posting frequently and getting to know your fellow studyblrs is a great way to become involved in the community!
also, you don’t need to post original content to be active - reblogs are totally okay as well!
there are tons of studyblr networks and directories out there where you can meet people with similar interests as you.
there’s also networks for different graduating classes, different locations, etc.!
or if you’re into creating content, there are a few zines / studyblr publications that you could apply for
challenges like the 100 days of productivity ensure that you’re posting a lot of original content (which we all love to see!)
also, challenges encourage you to form good habits in real life :) so that’s always cool
don’t worry too much about follower count
i definitely, definitely did this when i first started my blog
but if you just focus on making your blog the way you want it to be, people who are interested in your blog will follow you!
obsessing over followers is the #1 way to make studyblr a chore rather than an enjoyable community to be a part of, and also takes the focus off of studying
if you do want to gain followers, posting recognizable, original content is the way to go (by recognizable, i mean people will see a post and say “oh, that’s by froststudies!”)
but i honestly enjoy running acdemic so much more now that i don’t really look at my follower count :)
the studyblr community has flaws
i think it’s important to recognize that the studyblr community is flawed - super aesthetically pleasing bullet journals / notes will always be the posts with the most notes
that’s not a bad thing! i see those posts and they inspire me to do my best work
but know that pretty isn’t always the way to go and you definitely don’t have to conform to some “standard” of the studyblr community to be a good student
it’s just not always possible for people to own a shiny macbook and fake flowers and mildliners - there is nothing wrong with having those things but there’s also nothing wrong with not having them :)
the studyblr community is definitely moving toward the direction of “being a productive person is more important than looking productive” but people will always be more inclined to reblog a pretty post than a not-as-pretty post
being part of the studyblr community shouldn’t be stressful or discouraging!
have fun with your blog and if it’s too much work, set it aside and we will always welcome you back later :)
