for your OCs! Everyone has annoying habits, what are theirs? Pet peeves? Have they ever had petty arguments or serious fights? If so how long do/did they go on before being resolved? They seem to have differing opinions regarding pets, are there other things they disagree on?
Okay this is seriously long so I’m going to put it under a read more!
Annoying Habits/Pet peeves
Derrick:
Okay so Derrick shaves everyday which can take up some time in the bathroom (there are two in the house and one of them is in Ashtons room).He’s a super organized kind of person so he has razors for each section of hisbody organized by color. Green handles arefor his legs, yellow for his arms, blue for his face, pink is for his chest andred for pubic hair. He has them all in a hanging container above the sink. He doesn’t particularly mind if someone useshis razors but they better damn well return the thing to its proper place in abetter condition than it had been found in.
However, for Derricksshampoos and hair care products that he uses to keep it healthy from thedye/chlorine, he gets irrationally angry when they are displaced. He doesn’t have a reason for it really. He just gets crabby about it and may or maynot snap on Jordan or Ashton if they move one or use something. If they have guests who need to use theshower they have to warn them to nottouch anything because Derrick will know. It’s also really hard to nottouch anything because he has so muchof it. He has not been convinced tostore them elsewhere/downsize.
He also likes thingsto be clean before they leave the house. It can get pretty annoying if they are in a hurry and Derrick is wipingdown a counter before they leave or pulling a trash bag out because if they areleaving they might as well take the trash out. Sometimes it leads to Jordan physically removing him from the premiseswhile Ashton locks up. They treat him toice cream to try and disperse his anxieties and irritation with them. Derrick always says it doesn’t work but hedoes forgive them faster.
Annoying Habits/Petpeeves
Jordan:
Jordan tends to bevery laid back so not much bothers him but he does run his own business fromhome. So if the others are being tooloud or annoying he’ll shut his office door. That’s usually the sign to shut and sit down because J needs to focusand his boys need to either get out or quiet down. He only acts out aggressively when his littlestresses build up and build up before something very small and insignificantcan make him chew the others out. This leadsto full on rants about his stresses and problems and he can yell for severalminutes about things that don’t even pertain to the others but afterwards hefeels less stressed and then guilty because he yelled for no reason. He always apologizes but wallows in the factsof what he just did. It’s not uncommonfor him to fall into slumps because of this. Slumps which Ashton and Derrick work very hard to pull him out of.
As for annoyinghabits, Jordan is a messy organized type of person. Nothing has a place but he knows exactly wherehis things are. Derrick isn’t allowed inhis office anymore because the one time he entered he tried to organize whichled to Jordan missing a payment and a near lawsuit behind that. It was only thanks to the extra bucks thatAshton had from a recent job that got them out of that panic.
Jordan also is a loud eater;he falls into bad habits of chewing with his mouth open or leaving small messes. If he spills juice while pouring a glassthere is a 70% chance that he will ignore it. He’s also a caffeine addict and functions on at least three cups ofcoffee a day. On hard times you canoften find him at the local starbucks ordering americanos. His office trash is 60% starbucks cups andAshton is often annoyed by this because Starbucks is expensive and that muchcoffee is bad. Ashton often tries tohave interventions but Jordan off of caffeine is almost terrifying so theynever last long.
Annoying habits/petpeeves
Ashton:
Every morning theentire household knows when Ashton wakes up because he blares music from hisspeakers upon waking up. Throughout hisentire morning routine (which varies between generations to minute time spans)he will blare music. It isn’tparticularly annoying unless the others are working or sleeping. Long story short, Jordan knows exactly whichbreaker goes to Ashtons room and he has no problems flipping the switch if itmeans his work gets done and Derrick doesn’t have an aneurism.
Ashton also has thelongest hair and as such he sheds.Does he clean up his dead hairs? No. Ashton is repulsed by loose hair oranything resembling loose hair. His hairbrush stays clean and he’ll buy a new one every five months just to besure. He vacuums his room every week(something Derrick doesn’t mind) but refuses to empty the dirt canister on thevacuum (something Derrick definitely minds) In addition he always asks Derrickto clean his shower out when loose hairs clog the drain or it gets toobad. He doesn’t mind if Jordan does itbut Jordan isn’t nearly as thorough as Derrick and Jordan is 40% more likely totell Ashton to do it himself.
Ashton’s biggestpetpeeve is being misgendered. He willexcuse accidents or when others try to correct themselves after misgenderingbut when it’s done on purpose he gets angry. This can put him in a bad mood for the rest of the day or entirely ruinhis day. On especially bad days he has thetendency to take it out on Jordan and Derrick. They usually take it with good grace and understanding but it has causeda few arguments about how they aren’t Ash’s enemy and he needs to stopprojecting on them.
Ashton also hates thecoffee trend. He is all about teas andjuices. He gets irritated when Jordan buysmore than one coffee drink in a day and often scolds the elder for the amountof caffeine he ingests.
He hates Derricksdriving and refuses to let Derrick in the driver’s seat if he’ll be in the car. He either makes Jordan drive or he’ll drivehimself. Something Derrick hates becauseAshton has a led foot.
Fights
Of course they havepetty arguments about this and that when stress runs high and everyone isn’tfeeling good. Ashton is particularlymore argumentative in the summer when it’s hot out. He doesn’t do very well in heat and it makeshim very irritated very quickly. Jordanhas taken to carrying around emergency water bottles. These are usually resolved pretty quicklyranging from a few minutes to a day or two.
As for serious fightsAshton is more likely to hold a grudge. As he did when Derrick took the dogs/bird to new homes and he didn’ttalk to Derrick for weeks. This stemsfrom his mother who would always express feeling hurt when “Madeline” (Ash’sbirthname) Ignored her. He has taken to ignoringpeople when he becomes cross with them because of the impact on hismother. However, when he forgives hedoes it wholeheartedly and is notorious for forgetting about the incidententirely.
Jordan is usually thepeacemaker between Derrick and Ashton. When he is involved in thefight they fight longer and are more likely to retreat to their own spaces asopposed to sleeping in one room together.
Derrick is like atyphoon. He’ll come in raging and angrybut he doesn’t like to be alone so he’ll often drop the fight in a few hours ora couple of days if it hasn’t resolved. Sometimes he just pretends like nothing happened which can start a wholenew argument.
Both Jordan andDerrick can get frustrated with Ashton who will occasionally use crocodiletears as a method to winning arguments or getting his way.
As for a big fightthat really caused problems?
When Ashton firststarted living with Jordan and Derrick he would dissociate badly. He would have some pretty hard times andslowly started dissociating less with the help from a good therapist andsupport. For his job he models, mostlyclothing but sometimes other things like runway.
For one of his jobshis company wanted him to cross dress in skirts and other girlishclothing. He was nervous about it butthought that since he hadn’t dissociated badly in a long time that he couldhandle it. However, Derrick and Jordanboth stepped in and flat out told the company that they wouldn’t allow it. Ashton became upset because this was his work and they had no right to interfere with it but theyabsolutely refused to allow Ashton to do this even going as far to bring histherapist into the fight.
In the end they didn’ttalk to each other for almost three weeks because Ashton started sleeping overat a friends house. It was only whenDerrick and Jordan cornered him after work that they were able to talk it outand find a common ground. This is theonly fight that Ashton hasn’t been able to fully forget or forgive from. He still holds a bitterness about it becausehe’s an adult and wants to be treated like one.
