You wanna now something heartbreaking? If you want closeness you HAVE to be vulnerable. You WILL be seen with all your flaws and others CAN and WILL judge you for them.

By censoring yourself you're rejecting yourself and don't even give others a chance to accept you, flaws and all.

And you will be rejected, by god, it will fucking hurt. But y'know what? It's not personal. You could be the best gourmet meal and someone will still say they're on a diet.

It feels quite unfair how some are lucky enough to be surrounded by people who accept them fully from the start, while some of us have to claw and fight our way through to your tribe.

This is the sort of wisdom that is so obvious, and yet, I finally emotionally understood it only rejection after rejection
