The thing about Jay Jay, or Lieutenant Commander Flygare, is that he was a well known entity in the military as a whole. From showing what flight inside a Blue Angels jet was like, to in general being so excited to talk about flying the entirety of the military knew of Jay Jay "Jet Plane" Flygare. His call sign was no mistake to him, what started as a good natured joke from his squadron officers ( as call signs do, sometimes ) when he was an FNG, quickly became something that was far more ironic because he loved the name, and was open to talking about where it probably came from. After all, it didn't take much to google his name and see the news stories from when he was eighteen and being a commercial pilot.
Now, there had been rumors floating around, that a new pilot was being looked at for the Air Force One, well its main plane that is, as all pilots knew that any plane could technically be Air Force One. The kicker is that while the rumors floated around, everyone knew the pilot would be Air Force, it came with the name and everything. Which is why when Jay Jay heard those rumors out of his superiors mouths as they would give him looks, he resolutely ignored them. He had a job, which was training with his team, with the rest of the Blue Angels, they had just finished their last flight together of the season a week ago.
But when his commanding officer came and asked to meet with him, he simply agreed. What he hadn't expected was to be asked to show up ready for a flight, nor did he anticipate such a group of spectators. Jay Jay did not get nervous for flights, so he ran through his routine, took off, did maneuvers as asked and landed. He thought he was done, when an officer in the Airforce asked him about his time as a commercial pilot, and got into the nitty gritty of the different aircraft he flew when the man he was talking to saluted mid conversation, he turned, saw @frstwomn, and nearly forgot all mode of decorum and training for a second before saluting himself , and then saying, "It's an honor to meet you, Ma'am."
