Steve inherits an old haunted mansion but has to stay there for 48 hours before he can claim ownership. It doesn't go horror trope route though because he brings Eddie, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan and Argyle with him. They're all either too busy being weirded out by Argyle, Eddie and Robin or being intimidated by Nancy to try anything.

It's them that's living through a nightmare.

Especially when they finally catch Steve alone and he just starts whisper monologuing to himself about how he's finally gonna make a move on Eddie, hyping himself up in such a ridiculous way that the demon-ghost facepalms.

You know those aerial silk performers? Steve and Chrissy taking lessons at the same place because their best friends think they're gonna be able to get a job behind the scenes. They bond over how they both have an unspoken contract to always get jobs with said bffs, quickly becoming besties themselves.

Eddie and Robin thinking it's a great thing, at first, because of how close they become too. But they soon have the simultanious horror of, "oh god I'm crushing on your bestie", whilst laughing at each other because they know that their bestie likes them (and they can't tell, can't betray their best friend like that).

Steve and Robin working as lifeguards;

Eddie has been avoiding the pool so he can't torture himself with seeing all of that, but Nancy drags him there and, as soon as Robin asks what took them so long to visit, Nancy throws him under the bus with a panicked, "Eddie wanted to see Steve!"

Steve siddling up, confident as anything (he's already figured out that Eddies into him, he's trying not to pressure him), and turning it right back on her with, "damn Nance, Robin not good enough for you?"

Nancy trying to backtrack bc "no, no, I love Robin! I didn't mean- not that I don't love Robin, I do, I just meant-"

Steve and Robin very subtly high-fiving.
