Oh look, the Mangastream translation makes it seem like Zeref plans on having a Dragon King Festival 2.0. Which makes a hell of a lot more sense than starting the attack at what is now the equivalent of the DKF (which would mean waiting almost another year), if you ask me.

~ Umm… I’m either missing something or Mashima has screwed up his own timeline here.

The Dragon King Festival is what we now call the Grand Magic Games, right? But… Hasn’t that been at the very start of the post-timeskip arc? And it can’t have been more than a couple of months at the very most in-universe since then, right?

So then, what? Is there another one being held because of Natsu thrashing the latest winners? Or are Zeref and Acnologia referring to something else here? Like say, the actual anniversary of the original Dragon King Festival maybe? One which is close and which may or may not have been lost to the general public as centuries passed?

~ And, well, for me, this chapter put any theories of Yuriy somehow being God Serena to rest. I mean, I know most everyone in Ishgar is at least a little bit excentric but ugh. I’m sorry. I can’t take that guy seriously. I probably will have to when we’ll see him fight but at this moment, hell no. That’s not my Yuriy.

~ Cute things: Erza, Mavis and Makarov all answering at the same time to ‘Master’. Mest biting Gajeel’s head. People being all “Tell us your secRET, NATSU!” about what’s under the bandage (kind of like how the whole fandom is). 

~ And no, I don’t think Natsu’s secret technique has anything to do with Acnologia’s severed arm aching/itching/whatever (i need to read the raws to be sure). I just think it’s phantom pain for Acnologia and that’s it. 

~ And yeah, I’m sorry but no amount of planning is going to save them at this point. Nothing short of a damn miracle is going to save Ishgar at this point, not when it seems that Fairy Tail doesn’t plan on asking for help from the rest of the guilds and will just fight both Zeref’s army and Acnologia by themselves. And while they do have their borderline-overpowered members, that’s only maybe at the very most a quarter of the Guild’s members. There’s no way everyone is getting out alive. And it is going to be heartbreaking.
