Okay so I like a variety of ships. Many of them are the more conventional ones (as you’ve probably seen). However I also like some unconventional ones. I’m not putting all my ships in this fic otherwise there would be a lot of open relationships and poly throuples.
My general rule for shipping is that I look for characters that have chemistry together. Whether this is due to shared interests or similar personalities, it’s also due to their interactions, there are plenty of characters that have a ton of great interactions and/or shared interests that I can just never see together. (Honestly I think it comes down to vibes)
Okay so the next family is less one family and a collection of three...

The Justine Family
After watching his best friend (and long time crush) get married Freed settled for loving himself and being content with what he had. He was given the opportunity of becoming a great uncle to his two goddaughters and kept his friend in his life and nothing would make him disrupt that peace. Freed never believed that he would become a father. At least until he came across Victoria.
Victoria Justine
Vic grew up on the streets, intelligent and resourceful she turned to pickpocketing and pulling scams to get by. She happened upon a travelling wizard one day and decided to steal his wallet. The man, one Freed Justine, caught her. The surprising thing for him was how she had already started dispelling his protective enchantments in order to lift his wallet from his pocket. Seeing a spark in her he took her under his wing. The first few months were rough for the pair until Freed came to the shocking realisation that he had a daughter now. Victoria Justine is a skilled enchantress specialising in written enchantments much like her father. She also followed her fathers footsteps in other ways by becoming a steadfast follower of Mary Dreyar. While Victoria doesn't hold the same feelings for Mary as her father does for Laxus, she still hopes to ease her friends burden and remain a steady presence as best she can.
The Strauss Family
Elfman and Evergreen danced around each other for so long. Elfman was always ready to take his relationship with Ever to the next level. However, Evergreen dragged her feet, making excuse after excuse. The disheartened Elfman believed that the woman he loved was ashamed of him and began to think that she would be better with someone she could be proud of. When Ever learnt that he was thinking of calling things off she was mortified. She eventually came clean to him that she was never embarrassed by him. She went onto explain that inviting someone so close into a very intimate part of her life (that not even her teammates got to see) was difficult for her. She promised to change for him and proposed to him the next day in front of the entire guild for all to see.
Veronica Strauss
Veronica is every bit her fathers daughter, in looks that is. Standing almost a head and shoulders above her peers, Veronica casts an intimidating first impression. At least until she opens her mouth at which point her mother's more feminine influence shines through. Veronica the beast master is the primary reason why her team struggles to complete monster hunting quests. She's more than likely to try and befriend the creature rather than hunt it down (after grappling it to prevent it escaping). She's brought many a creature, of various sizes, home. If she had her way she would've opened her own zoo by now.
The Strauss Family (take two... three?)
When it came out that Bickslow, the most unserious member of the thunder legion, was seeing someone it came as a shock. He had previously been quoted as saying that he just wasn't interested in dating and was just here to have fun. What was more shocking was when he was caught making out with one Lisanna Strauss. Bickslow got quite the shovel talk after that. When the two finally came clean, it was discovered that the two had teamed up once and had bonded over various events in their lives. Bickslow had come from nothing, without even a name of his own, feeling forced to become a larger than life personality in order to make himself feel likeable. Lisanna, conversely, had been forced into the shoes of a dead woman to play house with a family that wasn't her own, only to return to a guild that had changed far too much in her absence. They found comfort in together, finding that they didn't have to perform for each other.
Vincent Strauss
Vincent's start in life had been difficult, born prematurely with a defect that made him blind, the boy's future was sure to be full of difficulties. Thankfully he was born into a guild that supported him in everything he did, offering him the same opportunities as his peers. When Vince was 7 his magic made itself known. Having the same ability to see souls as his father Vince was finally able to see in his own way. After activating his magic Vince became captivated by performers of all kinds, enjoying how there souls lit up while practising their craft as well as seeing their audiences react. Due to this, Vince decided to become something of a performer himself. He practises many performative skills and often acts as the distraction for his team with his loud and, sometimes, obnoxious personality.
