@bruceowayne she had known that it was bound to happen eventually. bruce leaving again to check on gotham. she had tried to tell herself a hundred times that it didn’t matter. she didn’t need him. she had andy, florian, hugo and penny the majority of the time and if she did somehow end up having trouble with something she could go to dick and jay. a month however had proven to be a rather a long time, and when he had called to say that he was coming back she had to admit that there was some element of her that was relieved.

“you look like hell,” that was the first thing she said to him upon sight of him at the admittedly now familiar coffee place. “please tell me you at least had alfred check you over before you left him again,”

( @mcnstcrindside ) “if i said i wanted to go all capcicle on you and nap for twenty years what would you’re reaction be?” tony hummed resting his head on the other’s shoulders, wrapping his arms around him from behind. things like this had certainly gotten easier since they told the kids. he didn’t have to worry about one of them coming downstairs. this was their new normal. a comforting thought in the trap that was tony’s mind as of late.

still bruce knew. knew better than nearly anyone else on the planet what was going on with him and the stark male was so tired of talking. it was enough for him in that moment just hold onto the other, still, breathing in his scent. “i think after all of this the three of us are entitled to a months vacation, just you me and betty cheap drinks and swim suits. you’ve gotta admit i’ve had worse ideas,”

( @bruceowayne ) were she anyone else going to lunch with their father would be something good, something happy, but for adella she would rather have been anywhere than on her way to meet bruce wayne. still she had promised florian that she was going to try and make this work, and how bad could a few hours in a nice restaurant be? she distracted herself with her phone for as long as possible, bothering both andy and florian for as long as she could before slipping it in her bag as waiter lead her to their table. he was there already of course. “hi bruce,” the girl greets almost awkwardly, leaning to give him the briefist of embraces before smoothing over her dress and taking a seat at the table.

“arnold robbins would have disagreed with you,” addy speaks from against the wall she’s leaning on near the other, before she’s really even thought her words through. “i think dad always considered himself to be the center of the universe,” she tended to avoid talking to bruce about her adopted parents where she could. things between them were awkward between the enough at it was, but there were small moments like this where she almost couldn’t help. “still he wore so many different masks around people, even me and florian, i don’t think i had any idea about who he was,” apart from perhaps the darker moments, but that she was not about to address. “strange that for a long time you seemed clearer right, when i had no idea about you at all,” she moves then, taking a more authoritarian stance. “sometimes i don’t know which you is real, the bat or the bruce i knew growing up...”

[ @mcnstcrindside @rcdshvlk ] it’s strange how quickly tony had found himself falling into routine with the other two, even with everything that had been going on with him lately, he draws a great deal of comfort from waking up to the two of them wrapped around him. in fact it makes sleeping through the night easier, to know they’re here safe with him. there are three cups of coffee in the morning and two forehead kisses when he manages to get up first. in that moment he’s sat at the table in their kitchen one of his helmets in front of him as he made a few adjustments. his mind didn’t stop no matter what else he was distracted with.

“morning you two,” he grins at the sight of them. sitting back for a moment and raising his hands in the air. “i know we said work stays in the lab, but i really wanted to try this out.”

“should i have?” tony asked with a raised brow, a ghost of a smirk holding his features. “did you blow something up in your lab again? bruce we spoke about this,” he’s teasing, a rather obvious habit for him when it came to the other. “unless this is related to a slightly greener problem?”
