Fairy Tail, Ch. 128
Sorry to keep bothering you but for your head canon event, I had an idea with something for Millianna x Sho, where Millianna and Sho have a long distance relationship due to Sho traveling around the world and they communicate through Lacrima.
Millianna and Sho are a slept-on couple! Absolutely adorable! This ended up more as a short drabble than actual headcanons, but I digress- it was such a cute pair and idea that I couldn’t help it.
MilliSho Long-Distance Relationship Headcanons
Millianna and Sho spent a great deal of time apart as he traveled the world following the destruction of the Tower of Heaven. Before Sho left, Millianna tearfully confessed her feelings for him- which he surprisingly rejected. At first, she was heartbroken, but Sho then smiled and gifted her a lacrima. He told her that he would travel the world to become a man worthy of her love (which made Millianna fall all the harder, because damn, what a smooth line!). They used the lacrima to communicate during his travels and Millianna’s training.
Sho called Millianna religiously; in the beginning, every night. He’d take the lacrima to show off the surrounding scenery and babble about all the amazing things he saw and did. Millianna listened intently, hanging onto every word with the dreamiest smile on her face. Part of her was jealous, watching as Sho experienced all these amazing things, but she reminded herself that she was on a journey of a different kind, honing her magic so she could become as strong as her role model Erza.
Then the disappearance of the core Fairy Tail mages happened. Millianna called Sho in tears, lamenting the apparent loss of Erza, and though he was teary-eyed himself he eased her through her grief. It was Sho that reassured her that Erza was the strongest mage in the world, and that she would definitely return someday.
The days bled into months and years, with the two growing into adult life. After Millianna joined Mermaid Heel, her missions kept her busy, so sometimes she wouldn’t be able to speak with Sho as frequently, but she tried to keep the lapses in communication under two weeks. Sho always loved to hear about her adventures, riveted as she regaled him with tales of helping others and trouncing evil mages. Before they knew it, seven years had passed and the Grand Magic Games were upon them.
Millianna was overjoyed at the return of the Fairy Tail mages and so, as soon as she returned to the hotel, she called Sho in excitement. But oddly, he didn’t answer, which she thought was odd. He had never not answered her. She clutched the lacrima to her stomach as she chewed on the inside of her cheek, reassuring herself that he was simply busy. He continued to dodge her calls for the remainder of the Games- then of course, the Games went awry with the plot to release dragons from the past, so Millianna wasn’t even thinking about calling him.
Finally, everything settled down and all the mages retired to their hotels to recover and heal after the harrowing event. The guild was partying in the hotel so Millianna went for a walk, trying to find a quiet space to try and call him on the lacrima again. She pursed her lips as she was met with nothing, only for a confident, deep “Hey,” to grace her ears. She jumped up from the bench, dropping the lacrima against the concrete to shatter it into pieces, to run at Sho, who was standing in the middle of the street. He opened his arms for a hug, but instead, she slapped him across the cheek.
“You idiot! You’ve been ignoring me all week! Do you have any idea what I’ve been through? I thought you might have died, and then I almost died, and-!” she stopped short, tears streaming down her red cheeks. “I missed you, you jerk, and thought I would never be able to see you again!” she sniffled, rubbing at her watery eyes with the heels of her palms. Regretful, Sho gently grabbed her by the upper arms to pull her against his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized sincerely. “I’ve been on the train all week and wanted to surprise you... If I had answered, you would have known I was finally coming home...” At his apology, Millianna melted into his form and allowed him to embrace her. Smiling wanly, he dropped a kiss into her caramel-colored hair. “So... What do you think? Am I a man worthy of you yet, Millianna?” he asked softly. Chuckling, Millianna looked up at him with a sweet smile.
“Silly Sho. You always have been.”
