⧾ ⊹ * ♦︎╰ closed starter for @arlocedwards​​​ ╯// after talking with stassi for a bit, it reminded sirena to go check up on arlo next. she knew being under the same roof as your ex wasn’t going to be easy for them, just like it wasn’t going to be easy for astrid and harrison either. this is exactly why she never got into long term relationships like this, knowing it could always end in utter heartbreak and it was a feeling she’d rather not ever have to experience. when she found the other’s room, she leaned in and gave the boy a smile, “if it isn’t my favorite troublemaker. how you doing, babes?”

the sun was beginning to set behind the two laid out on the hammock that shanley had adopted weeks before, their legs intertwined as her head rested on his chest, his breathing and the slow swaying of the hammock nearly rocking her to sleep as the two laid in silence. the novel in arlo’s hand propped up in front of her failing to keep her interest; arlo, on the other hand, seemed to be extremely interested in it. the newly engaged couple had begun a search for activities they could do together; ways to enjoy each other’s company other than being locked away in their bedroom, then hoping to take those activities with them when the summer was over. spending the afternoon reading was certainly an arlo chosen activity, not that shanley could complain, she knew it meant she got to be snuggled up in his arms while enjoying a beautiful, cool summer’s day away from the villa. plus, they finally had a system down: he held the book while ‘they’ read and she would patiently wait for him to press his lips against the top of her head as signal/approval to turn to the next page. all she could hope for was that he didn’t ask for her opinion on the novel because if he even asked her for the title, she would have no clue what to tell him. although she knew of ways that could get her out of answering any questions. she rubbed her head against his chest, forcing her eyes open. seconds away from admitting to not knowing anything about what was in front of them and how tired she was getting but instead pushes the book closed with her index finger, “oops,” she mumbled, her eyes slowing looking up at his face to see his reaction, “as thrilling as this book is,” she fibbed, now rubbing her hand against his chest, “i think we deserve a small break, y’know. maybe, talk.” she suggested, tapping her fingers against his chest, “tell me something i don’t know about you.” // ( ft. @arlocedwards​ )

it didn’t matter what the others told her about arlo; how he could never cheat, how he only took the shot in solidarity, or how he needed time to get his mind straight. it didn’t matter because the pair had made an agreement to communicate and be honest with one another. they had only been together for a week and he had already broken their promise. after the whole debacle, shanley expected an apology and an explanation. but he went the whole weekend avoiding her, never giving her an apology or explanation. she was hurt, trying her best not to walk out and find him. honestly, she didn’t even have the strength to leave her room till she got the text and the next thing she knew, she was walking through the hospital doors. sirena is with someone right now, the nurse informs her and directs her to the waiting room. immediately, she sees his face. her heart sinks. if things were okay between them, she would have been happy to see them right now. but things weren’t okay and all she could feel was dread. she sighs, taking an empty seat, facing him, on the opposite side of the room. // ( ft. @arlocedwards​ )
