Okay, those words did sting a little but, because despite how busy he was, how could he ever forget Gianna? She was right though, because this whole thing going on with the Bloodline, Roman and now Summerslam, had been consuming a lot of his time, but Jey wanted to change that, because he’d been missing her as well.

“Come on now, G, cut me a little bit of slack here. How could I ever forget you? You’re one of the most important people in my life. I know I’ve been busy lately, but I always want to try and make time for you.”

Just to finally see that smile on her face, Jey gave Gianna a small, playful pout. “Come onnnnn! Forgive me, please, baby girl?”

𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 from the bar with two martinis in hand, liquid sloshing dangerously close to the rim with every step. one heel caught slightly on the floor, but she recovered like it was part of the act, flashing a grin as she finally made it back to the table. “gigi,” she announced, setting one down in front of her. the nickname was a telltale sign that bee was already well on her way to being drunk. “peter pettigrew from harry potter over there sends his regards.” she tipped her chin over her shoulder, not subtle in the slightest as she nodded toward the man still staring. bee didn’t even bother lowering her voice. at this point, if he heard, good. “and—” she slid into her seat, immediately reaching for her drink, “he asked if we’re the kind of girls who get drunk and make out, so i told him to buy us a few more rounds and find out.” she loved this part: the setup, the promise, the inevitable disappointment. there was something so deeply satisfying about watching a man realize that he’d been played.

“but i think he definitely thinks you’re hotter,” she added, giving her a once-over like she was assessing her own claim. “should i go get his number for you? you can keep him as a pet.” bee snorted. “but for real, listen. i hope you’ve found someone in this godawful city to fuck. because i, personally, am in a tragic, biblical-level dry spell.” she pressed a hand to her chest like it physically pained her. “too much going on at fucking work.”

it was a tale as old as time: if there was an event, isla was going to find herself running fashionably late. one of her mother's stylists worked diligently on her hair as she continued to type away at her phone, shooting a message to her friend inviting her in. the small talk continued as she waited.

"hello, my love!" a bright smile welcomed gianna as well as her words. "thank you so much for coming!" there was a slight worry that her 'no good ex', as isla reffered to him, would be trailing behind her but she decided to keep that worry to herself. "we're just finishing up so feel free to sit and make yourself at home."
