It came to her with ease, being able to twirl the baton like it was second nature. There was the urge to throw it into the air but because they were confined to their room, she couldn’t. All she could do was pace back and forth, talking to one of her roommates. “Do you think this a regular thing?” she began, looking over at Luce. “Where Gallagher has two lockdowns a semester? Like, do you think this is their norm?” What a sad norm if you asked her. @lucefrs​

“You’re... Luce Frear, right?” They were staring down at the sitting girl, hugging library books close to their chest and head tilted to the side. So this was Scott’s... girlfriend? Hm. “I’m Monique, Scott’s friend. I’ve been wanting to meet you.” @lucefrs​

Usually when it was someone’s birthday, Harper would dedicate her entire Instagram and Snapchat story to that specific person. Posting old videos, cute and embarrassing pictures, and explain how much she loved said person. However, with the administration’s rules, their phones were confiscated thus stopping her from her typical routine. She couldn’t do it for her own birthday and she couldn’t do it for Luce, who’s birthday was today. But no matter, Harper was still going to celebrate despite their new location. “Since it’s your birthday,” she began.“How do you wanna celebrate? Wanna get some cake from the food court, use the spa and relax, or steal someone’s phone to take pictures again?”

"There she is!" Arms were quick to wrap around the blonde, pulling her tight and close to her chest. If Harper was a crier, she would've balled her eyes out right there on the dance floor. But with her back at Gallagher, surrounded by soon to be spies and the trauma that sat in the back of her mind, she couldn’t show such vulnerability to them again. Her being back felt so strange and unreal, a reminder that the events that took place a year ago actually happened. How her heart filled with dread and old resentment that she held for Gallagher and those who were loyal to it. But such feeling and weight lasted only two seconds before her eyes landed on a very familiar face. "God, Luce, I've missed you so much!"

Plot drop updates

You ever try to chill after finally being able to? Because that was Harper who was just trying to sleep until the alarm went off. At first, she paid no mind to it because sis just wanted to sleep. It was Matt ( @mattcastigador )gently shaking her awake, his eyes filled with worry and concern. “Where’s Luce?” he asked her, causing her to bolt upright and to basically jump out of her bed (fun fact: she shouldn’t have done that because it wasn’t safe with her being on the top bunk). Luce was not in their room, the two’s nerves and own alarms going off because Gallagher’s alarms? Did not sound like a good thing. She opened the door, hoping to get some sort of answers from students but she was only met with confusion. 

Now, if the Gallagher students were confused and didn’t know what was happening then fuck the Georgetown students who were confused themselves. It was the assurance of others to stay in the room until things cleared up and that they’ll keep a lookout for her friend that caused their room door to close. But even so, it didn’t sit right with her. Because the last time something like this happened, she lost a friend. She wasn’t ready to lose another, not like this, not any time soon. 

To help ease their minds, Harper picked up her baton, twirling it to calm herself. It soon became entertainment for both her and Matt, the other asking her to teach him as well. It was something to take their minds off the whereabouts of their friends. With the lack of phones, they couldn’t text and see if people were, well, alive. As time went on of the two twirling the baton and talking about anything under the sun that Luce ( @lucefrs )walked through the door. Her presence caused Harper to drop the baton and to throw her arms around the other, Matt flowing alongside for the group hug. She was okay, Luce was okay. 

Harper took her friends arrival as a sign that she could roam, or at least, to just check up on her friends. A trip to the fifth floor was planned and needed, to make sure that they were all accountable. But first, before she could go up, she went down to check on two others. Knocking on the door, she waited patiently until the door opened. There, answering it was Caden ( @cadenlucca ), a sigh leaving her lips at the sight of her friend being okay. At that very moment, Harper could’ve wrapped her arms around him for a hug to smile up at him, but instead, she said something else that was very much on brand for Harper Mariah Kent. 

“Carson, give me your phone, I gotta take a picture of myself to remember this moment.”
