@mannylobos !
Derek hated Valentine’s Day. He hated seeing all the happy couples walk through the hall, pretending that this was going to last longer than high school no matter how much they said it was going to. He vaguely knew that his problem with the holiday was that he didn’t have a significant other, but he was also aware that was a bigger problem. He knew he couldn’t have a relationship until he graduated from college. By then his parents couldn’t do anything that would harm him -- like kick him out or not pay for college. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, he needed them to believe that he was a disappointment in other ways before they found out he was a disappointment because of something he couldn’t control even if he wanted to. Derek could have decided to be sick and stay at home, but that might have just turned out worse.
He narrowly avoided a couple, moving to the side, and managing to hear them tell each other that they loved one another. It was enough for him to feel a panic attack coming on. How had he ever thought he could get through this day without medication? Derek opened the nearest classroom door, praying that there wasn’t anyone inside and sunk down to the ground almost the second after he closed the door and moved off to the side. Breathe.

The celebrations seemed to be in full swing by now, Adrasia's head spinning somewhat from the contrast of the Undercroft's long, repetitive days against the enthusiastic chaos now spreading through Krovstown's streets. He'd promptly lost track of the individuals he'd wanted to look after during the night and since stumbled into more than a few he would have much preferred not to see. The celestial was cold, disoriented and had already accepted one drink of dubious origins. More than that, he was tired. Adrasia had not gotten used to the feeling, no matter how much more frequently he was experiencing it.
He'd found himself seated on one of the low steps outside a bustling venue on Oymyakon Street -- at battle, this time, with the broken lacing on one of his sandals. He was getting irate enough with it to seriously consider going barefoot when he noticed someone drawing near with intentions other than crowding towards the heat lamps scattered outside the building. "Manny." The relief in Adrasia's voice was tangible, something relaxing in his posture as he peered up at the shifter in his illegible costume, "Could I ask you for a moment's help? I fear I'm about to stumble into sin if I cannot master this thing."

First, Adrasia had told himself he was simply leaving to spare himself from the sound of Roland and the hellhound's especially vigorous exertions for a small while. Then he'd convinced himself of his destination, of the moral rightness of his path, a simple act of anticipation in service of a friend. That was all. He remembered how the castle had descended into debauchery this time last year, all too vividly where one specific guard had been involved. Despite how things had ended, Adrasia had a niggling feeling he knew exactly where Manny would wind up yet again this go around -- which was why there was a subtle nervousness yet no surprise in the slave's eyes when he spotted the shifter heading his way.
Adrasia had stationed himself not far from the entrance to the Undercroft, tucked against one of the shaded walls of the courtyard. It was the perfect position to step forward after only a short moment of hesitation, a knowing smile on his face as Manny drew closer. "Don't tell me you're still making an effort to work today?" He asked, gently teasing, his fingers winding together fretfully behind his back. He felt guilty for something that had not even occurred yet, but he hadn't stopped himself from coming here either. "Did last year's events not convince you otherwise?"

WHO: max mayfield & @mannydiaz WHAT: mr.diaz nuts to u and max find a pocket knife! WHERE: hawkins middle, ~after hours~
it was a longshot, max knew that, but she had at least a twenty percent chance of success, so why not try to get her old pocket knife back? she hadn’t remembered why the memory sprung back into her brain, but it had. right there in the middle of the hawk, she was scooping popcorn kernels into the machine to be popped, and she remembered in the eighth grade, stacey albright snitched that max had a pocket knife in her bag and it got taken away, never to be returned. max would’ve liked to say the desire to recover this knife, choppy’s predecessor even, was for safety purposes, because she’d gotten hurt at the junkyard. but in truth? max simply wanted to find it just to be able to pull it off.
it was right after nine pm when max finished her shift for the day. she hopped on her board and headed straight for hawkins middle, which took all of ninety seconds to pick the lock and break into. the ease in which she’d done it made max roll her eyes at the school’s lack of security. once she stepped inside, she headed directly for the principal’s office, where she was certain her pocket knife was tucked away, locked in some drawer like a great treasure. she turned a corner right after the stairwell and paused at the sight of a random man with a brief case. surprisingly unafraid max flashed him a face of disgust as she asked, “what are you doing here?” she glanced at her watch then at him, “it’s almost ten at night.”
who: @grace-collins when: sunday brunch. where: the grand hall.
After so much independence away from his dad, it was almost suffocating to have him around again, imposing his authority in any manner he could fashion. Luca would miss his siblings, but they tended to get on his nerves, and he thought it a silver lining they’d be returning back home today. He took a seat beside a familiar looking face, one he was pleasantly surprised to see again. “Hey, Grace. Missed ya, love. Didn’t scare you off last time, did I?” he quipped with a widening smirk.
