so many of my sources feel so obscure that i don't think much will come out of it... but if i can at least get one more person into them then maybe i'll shoot my shot!!
do YOU 🫵 miss POINT AND CLICK ADVENTURE GAMES? do you enjoy games with PIXELATED GRAPHICS and INCREDIBLY INVOLVED STORIES and a healthy dose of TIMELOOP FUCKERY?? may introduce to you: the scriptwelderverse of the DEEP SLEEP and DON'T ESCAPE games!!
DEEP SLEEP is a tetralogy about both the (in universe) dangers of LUCID DREAMING and the vast and widely undiscovered world of the REALM OF DREAMS which is both fascinating and WILDLY DANGEROUS. DON'T ESCAPE is a tetralogy consisting of "ANTI-ESCAPE ROOM" games, where instead of trying to get yourself OUT of a place, you're trying to keep yourself IN. curious as to how these series even relate to each other? simply play them for yourself (or watch someone else play them!) and that will become READILY APPARENT!! yes, i have been emphasizing things as if this were a page out of HOMESTUCK and i am NOT going to be stopping now!!
i, personally and specifically, am kin with DAVID from DON'T ESCAPE: 4 DAYS TO SURVIVE! though because of the nature of my source being so interconnected to the other games in the series, i generally refer to myself as both DON'T ESCAPE and SCRIPTWELDERVERSE kin! i doubt there'd be anyone who's also scriptwelderverse kin out there but i don't care, because i LOVE THESE GAMES TO DEATH and i REALLY WANT MORE PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT THEM!! scriptwelder is an incredibly talented writer and developer; despite the simplistic nature of the games (especially the original triologies), they are genuinely so well crafted and i think they deserve a lot more love than they currently get.
the latest game in the scriptwelderverse, DEEP SLEEP: LABYRINTH OF THE FORSAKEN, is the 4th installment of the deep sleep series and is honestly just so fucking fun!! it just came out this year and highly recommend any lover of indie games check it and the other games in the series out!
and if you need just a little more convincing, as of writing (the night of Sept. 29), ALL THE GAMES IN THE SCRIPTWELDER COLLECTION, normally priced at around a total of $40 USD, are currently on sale on steam for a grand total of $20.15 USD for the steam autumn sale, ending Oct. 6!! that's $20.15 for 8 GAMES IN TOTAL!! what a steal!! (BUT you can also try out both of the original trilogies FOR FREE on armor games' website! a word of advice, though: they may be a little janky since they were originally made for flash and have since been ported over to whatever flash emulator armor games uses, but they are still up!! you can even play them on mobile browsers!)
tl;dr: pretty please check out the scriptwelderverse games, they're so awesome and cool and fun and i think a lot of people might be really into them if they just gave them a shot.
pretty please? do it for me, your new pal david :-)
