With the New Years ball over Jack had found himself returning to work with a glee most probably wouldn’t have. He loved doing what he did even if those he served didn’t necessarily care, it kept him busy and when he’s busy he isn’t able to do anything else. He’d been good just as Verity had told him, easier to do when he was able to slip away and enjoy the night. The evening rush was beginning to wind down, leaving all but a few stragglers as they wrapped up their meal. Jack was behind the counter, humming softly to himself as he began to get everything ready for the next day. His section was already cleared of people, so he found himself something to do until he was given the all clear to head home. As he worked he glanced up slightly to see the familiar red hair before stopping to give her his full, “I’m almost finished, miss. Can I do something for you?”
