Hello! I’m Nicky (x), the new co-mod for fuckyeahichabbie.
(Sidenote: I’m also the owner/mod of fuckyeahjorian. Shoutout to all the SleepyHuman fans, I know there’s quite a few of us around!)
Anyway, I’ve been on board helping to run this blog for about a week now and it’s been a blast :) Don’t worry, Sasha’s still active on tumblr, just a bit busy with school and rl atm.
Jan 13 will be here and this mini-hiatus feels like forever will be over very soon. In the meantime, I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays! xx.
Hey y'all! It's looking like my future is going to be quite busy for the next semester of my life and so I will be spending less time on Tumblr. I'm looking for a mod or two to help me run this blog so that I don't need to all the time. I know that several people have approached me in the past about this, so please--feel free to submit your application :)

Abbie, Katrina and Ichabod: A Thoughtry (Thought+Theory)
So, maybe, just maybe, this is not an argument over whether or not Katrina and Ichabod have/had chemistry – that both remains to be seen and is subjective.
Nor is it an argument of love, but rather, the kind of love and the way it manifests in the individuals it touches.
Of course, Abbie is also a strong woman. And as a woman of color, she is also very much bound by the confines of an unjust society – controlled. However, her stubbornness and spirit – while veering slightly down a path of self-destruction in her teens – have manifested not as rebellion (like Katrina or Jenny), but as a powerful moral code and sense of justice. She is not fighting through aggression or opposition; she is fighting by proving that she is more than worthy, that she deserves to be a part of a larger society because she is anyone’s equal.
I think, perhaps, what attracted Katrina and Ichabod to one another was a similar open-mindedness and radical idealism that, while passionate, is not necessarily fodder for a healthy or balanced relationship.
Where Katrina’s love for Ichabod brings out a certain amount of pride, perhaps partially due to the reinforcement of his own ideals, ideals so precisely mirrored in Katrina, Abbie’s own feelings (not yet love, as much as I’d like it to be, fellow Ichabbabies) for him drive self-examination, awareness and humility. (See: “I always found Abraham arrogant, perhaps he was just a mirror to myself.”)
So in the end, maybe this war for affection does not come down to chemistry (though I do have strong opinions on that), nor does it come down to simply love. It comes down to what kind of love. How that love manifests in each person and in the relationship.
Perhaps Katrina and Ichabod were right for each other, but in the wrong way. They complimented one another’s hubris, a love that was a bit selfish. Perhaps Abbie and Ichabod, as they are clearly destined to journey together for seven years (this is one point not up for debate), are right for each other in the right way, a love that is pure, complimenting each other’s humanity – a trait so desperately needed in the end of days.
Then, of course, next week’s episode could prove me wrong. Or I could be reading too much into it. Which I believe my degree in English qualifies me for.

Ichabbie Week! Day 1: When did you start shipping Ichabbie?
It snuck up on me actually. I saw the promos leading up to the premiere, I didn't really pay it any mind. I barely watch fox. I missed the day Sleepy Hollow premiered but I caught it on the Sleepy Fridays encore. I knew that I was hooked when Ichabod and Abbie were driving around talking about Starbucks, but the Ichabbie hit me a little later. With force. It was so gradual yet so surprising at the same time. I'm pretty sure the moment I shipped Ichabbie was in the Sandman episode. When Ichabod realizes that Abbie could die in the dream world and suddenly without hesitation took the bottle of the dream tea straight to the head, it was like BOOM! Ship sailed! He was willing to risk his life for hers and that made me think of another pairing I ship. (which shall not be named because though he was willing to risk his life for her and nearly died, they still didn't get together in the finale. Which I am still not over.) If Ichabod and Abbie don't get together (which I highly doubt because the chemistry between Nicole and Tom is phenomenal, almost unbearable) I shall dissolve into a puddle of unfathomable sadness and despair. I've done that enough over my last OTP who shall remain nameless. So that's my story about when I shipped Ichabbie. Happy Ichabbie Week everybody!

FuckYeahIchabbie is hosting the first Ichabbie Week of the year, October 28 to November 3, to celebrate our favorite ship on Sleepy Hollow and to count down to the newest episode, 1.06: Sin Eater, which airs November 4.
For each day, the goal is to do something creative for Ichabbie that revolves around the theme. There is no limit to how many things you can make for each day, or what media form it takes. You can write a drabble, make a fanmix, create a fanvid or gifset, break out the ol’ Photoshop and whip up a cool edit… whatever strikes your fancy!
