ATTENTION: DO YOU WANT TO RUN A ZELDA BLOG? [FUCKYEAHZELDA]
Darknessandstarlight who is the current owner of fuckyeahzelda has decided he no longer has the time to post, and it's been inactive since for nearly 2 years now. It was created back in 2009 and was one of the few Zelda appreciation blogs I found when I created fuckyeahlink, it was slowly becoming inactive, and it gave me inspiration to create this blog! It's had previous owners before him, and now he would like to pass it on to someone who is interested in taking it off him. I know there are many of you who've wanted to help us out on fuckyeahlink, however we're not looking for help. This could be a wonderful opportunity! It would be nice if you are actually committed to wanting to run this, and not doing it to gain followers for your own personal blog! Please show real interest towards Jacob, as he will be selecting someone he believes will be suitable! I cannot speak for what he will be looking for, but just be aware that once you're selected, if the blog picks up more traffic since it's been inactive for a year, that it isn't anyways going to be as simple as you think (take our word for it, you've all witnessed a handful of what we choose to publish) - a lot goes into running an appreciation blog if you want it to become successful! I'm sure once he's selected someone if you want a co-owner that will be fine, you'll have full rein over the blog, you'll be able to run it how you like, update the theme. Everything will be in your control! Don't disappoint! I think it will be a wonderful opportunity for any one of you, there is always room on tumblr for more Zelda, right? And I can't wait for fuckyeahlink to become affiliates with the new owner of the blog!
Here's some suggestions if you're not confident you can run an appreciation blog. It's not much different than your personal blog. Ultimately you can run it how you like!
Have an easily navigational theme.
Tag and keep everything organized - start that right away, your followers will appreciate it.
Follow Zelda blogs - check out our affiliates if you'd like some good blogs to follow.
Reblogging will really carry your blog a lot (honestly, we rely heavily on reblogging from people who make gifs if you haven't noticed by now!)
DO NOT STEAL AND REUPLOAD ANYONES GIFS OR GRAPHICS AND TAKE THE CREDIT FOR THEM. REBLOG EXISTS FOR A REASON, USE IT!
If you decide to find and post fanart, INCLUDE THE SOURCE. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.
You don't have to be a gif or graphic maker, that's just a bonus if you are!
Allow submissions to be sent, it can give your followers a chance to send you some really nice content. (ex: their fanart, tattoos, merch, etc.)
It's always nice to allow questions, even anonymously because a lot of people are just shy. It invites discussions to be made, and can be nice to mix things up on your blog.
If you're still unsure, observe how we, and any other appreciation blog run their blog and sort of mold and adapt the blog how you want it.
