The newgens on ao3 that came from tiktok/wattpad trying to get an independent archive to suit their needs by wanting monetization through ads and shit?? Absolutely NOTT, nty, ao3 isn't a social media app, it's for fandom spaces to write freely (as in ANYTHING we want), for the fun of it, and so that we can share ideas without needing to change through tabs every 2 seconds because of a single tap on your screen because of a stupid advertisement. (I thought we as a society hated ads anyway???)

Ao3 also does not need an algorithm. It'll only bring a more competitive and toxic community, one where authors would have to cater to the algorithm's wants and needs. Monetization would also make ao3 have to follow censorship, which could legit bring down millions and millions of fics. It would cause a shit load of lawyers, companies, and creators trying to sue ao3 to the brim.

I rest my case, people. Ao3 is as good as it already is.
