For as long as I can remember I have never sung it - and guess what, if y’all changed it, I wouldn’t sing the new one. I have no pride for this nation, how it was built, and how it continues to spoon feed everyone the false narrative of an inclusive, opportunistic existence while killing us, erasing us and neglecting us. Blak people and our history, ALONG WITH OUR SACRED SITES DO NOT MATTER. POC here do not matter. The mentally ill do not matter. Homelessness does not matter. Queer mob don’t matter. Trans people don’t matter. The disabled do not matter. The list goes on. There is nothing to rejoice here - or to be proud of.
