With the EU Directive on firearms, several hundreds of thousands of guns will be confiscated, including the very popular pump shotguns with rifled barrels (don’t ask, it’s a French thing) in the name, of course, of the fight against terrorism. 

It’s a perfect example of how gun control works : at first they only take the “military” guns, then the “sport shooting guns” and in the end, even “hunting rifles” are targeted. 

Of course, it will be the problem of the millions of gun owners in France to vote better at the next elections – but in the meantime, every little gesture counts against worldwide gun grabbers.

I'm hopeless when it comes to political stuff, I'm trying. Why are "fudds" the enemy in gun control over the others? Is it because they vote more than the millennials?

Fudds are the the fellow gun owners that ruin things for everybody else.

They don’t like black scary guns or shooting for fun/as a hobby (rather than as a serious sport or strictly for hunting with traditional guns), so they think no one needs or should own them.

They’ll gladly open the door for gun control from the inside if it allows them to sneer at people who don’t conform to their very limited idea of acceptable gun ownership.

They also suck to deal with in general, my personal experience with fudds is having to listen to endless monologue about how all I need is a single shot Olympic .22 abomination and don’t I dare want to own anything for the fun of it.
