Fuffy AU - 13 Going on 30 (2004)

After total humiliation at her thirteenth birthday party, Buffy Summers wants to just hide until she’s thirty. Thanks to some wishing dust, Buffy’s prayer has been answered. With a knockout body, a dream apartment, a fabulous wardrobe, an athlete boyfriend, a dream job, and superstar friends, this can’t be a better life. Unfortunately, Buffy realizes that this is not what she wanted. The only one that she needs is her childhood best friend, Faith, a girl that she thought destroyed her party. But when she finds her, she’s a grown up, and not the same person that she knew.

The music is thumping and Buffy Summers is holding her hand. It’s electric, Faith can feel sparks shooting up her arm like she’s holding a live wire. Buffy’s so fucking beautiful, her hair flicking around her face and the lights reflecting off the sheen of sweat on her body and now Faith’s thinking about what else she could do to make her sweat like that.

There are people dancing all around them, but Faith doesn’t give a shit about the guys trying to grind on her because she’s dancing with Buffy Summers and it’s like all her dreams have come true. Buffy puts her free hand on Faith’s hip and pulls her in closer and it’s taking all of Faith’s restraint not to just grab her and kiss her and to hell with everybody else.

And now the song’s over and Faith’s heart sinks, but Buffy’s still holding her hand as they weave their way off the dancefloor. Instead of heading towards her friends, Buffy leads Faith over to the side of the Bronze, and Faith leans against the wall as she gets her breath back.

The band starts up again but they stay in the dark. Buffy’s not talking, and Faith doesn’t really know what to say, so she keeps quiet too. The music’s loud, but it’s almost like they’re somewhere else entirely, somewhere where it’s just Buffy and Faith and the way that Buffy’s swinging her arm between them that makes Faith feel alive.

“You just can’t take a hint, can you?” says Buffy, turning to look at her. Faith can’t quite read her expression, but then Buffy moves and she doesn’t need to anymore.

Buffy’s kissing her and Faith feels like she’s flying, but the cold brick against her back brings her back down to earth. One of Faith’s hands is pressed into the wall, fingers entwined with Buffy's, but she wraps her other arm around Buffy’s waist, pulling her closer. They break, breathing heavily, and Buffy smirks.

“So much for subtlety.”

Told from Faith’s POV, this is how I imagine things actually went down - Buffy wanted Angel but couldn’t have him, so when Faith comes to town they get together in secret while denying that they might actually have feelings for each other. Which they absolutely do. They have many feels. All of the feels.
