Guiding Light

so for Guiding Light’s mechanic he basically starts with a Guiding Light familiar, flight, altered Blue Key, and The Mind. I’ll add stats tomorrow probably but he’s low health and can only take soul hearts.

Its altered Blue Key is named Hotel Key and instead of putting Blue Womb rooms in the way of special rooms, it puts special Hotel Rooms with Hotel enemies in the way. This happens for all special rooms, but is guaranteed to drop a pickup upon completion.

Its Guiding Light familiar will attach to a random enemy and make all attacks do doubled damage to that specific enemy. The Guiding Light familiar will also function like Yo Listen and hover over secret rooms, tinted rocks, and rocks with trapdoors underneath.

I've finally managed to finish this piece!

figuring out the lighting situation and making the clouds in the background look believable took ages, but I'm really proud of how this one ended up.

I had to redo the rimlight on the character twice because I couldn't figure out the light source the first two times around. welp, at least it was a really fun learning experience ^-^

let me tell you a funny little story about this wip

I couldn't think of a background way back when I made the sketch, so I did the line art and flat colours first. after a little bit of shading I decided that posting a wip would be a good idea, since there was no way I was getting this entire thing done by the next deadline

then I somehow still couldn't come up with a background, so I just went with fully shading the girl and cat. well, now I'm sitting here with a fully shaded character and a rough direction of where to take the colours in the background, the one thing I haven't drawn yet :'D
