This is probably the most recommended product I’ve ever had!

I asked a lot of people on my instagram for a makeup recommendation and everyone said to try the Huda Beauty #Faux Filter Foundation, £34.00 (though I paid £23 on cult beauty during Black Friday promotion). Huda Beauty isn’t a brand I’ve tried out a lot, the only other product I own is the Huda Beauty Nude Light eyeshadow palette which I’m in love with. I feel like Huda Beauty is a brand I need to try more because currently I’m up to date on CT so I need something new to obsess over.

Let’s chat about the #FauxFilter foundation. This foundation is described as a a full-coverage cream foundation that is designed to blur and hide imperfections, blemishes and any discolouration. This foundation is great for evening your skintone to give you the perfect flawless finish. It has a demi matte finish which means it’s a matte foundation but it does have a real subtle glow to it. On Huda’s site she also has a little tip how to wear the foundation if you have oily skin. She said “If you have oily skin, setting it with a thin layer of translucent powder gives the most incredibly flawless, all-day-matte look”.

Now I knew this foundation had a lot of hype so I was really excited to try it out but also a little nervous if I didn’t like it. Luckily I loved it!! I got the shade Angel Food 110N which is a perfect match for my fair skin tone, when you order shades online you’re never too sure about shades but thankfully I matched myself well. When you use this foundation it’s VERY clear a little goes a long way and honestly my skin looked transformed and that was before I even powdered my foundation down. I can always tell if a foundation is proper full coverage because you won’t need concealer if it’s good and I didn’t need any with this. After I powdered the foundation down it gave me a lovely matte finish, Huda has designed a gorgeous foundation that really gives you that filter looking finish. I’m in love with this product and for something so full coverage it really feels so light on your skin which really surprised me. The range itself has so many colours for every tone so if you want to try the foundation yourself I’m sure you’ll find your shade.

Overall if you’re looking for a foundation that will give you a real demi matte, full coverage finish that will last you a long time this foundation is a match made in heaven!!! This is one of those products that really deserves the hype it has behind it if you live in the U.K Huda Beauty is avaliable at Selfridges & Boots.

Recently I finally got myself a whole makeup storage unit to organise my makeup and genuinely make my life a lot easier and doing this I came across a lot of products I used to be obsessed with. So today we are going to be chatting about a old favourite of mine the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation £27 which fun fact I’m pretty sure was one of my first ever highend foundations!

For those who don’t know All Nighter is one of Urban Decays biggest makeup collections they have ever done it was a range of matte, full coverage and long lasting cosmetics. I saw so many people during tutorials with this foundation when it first came out and I was instantly amazed since I never tried a matte foundation before neck I don’t think I ever heard of matte foundation until I found this one. When I actually tried it out the first I was in shock I had never seen my face so matte and also have so much coverage from one pump of foundation and then the spark happened and I was instantly sold. That was about 4 years ago now I think and since then I’ve probably repurchased this foundation 2/3 times.

I recently filmed a video doing a full face of urban decay products and honestly my brain exploded all over again using this foundation. This product hands down made me love full coverage products and genuinely made me more confident on bad skin days. I’m so excited I came across this foundation because it’s genuinely brilliant and even after all this time it’s still one of my favourites. Sometimes you have to take a minute and go through the makeup you own already because it’s like being reunited with a old friend so check your makeup collections out and pick out some old favs to use more.

On Sunday night I got to live out something on my bucket list ... seeing HALSEY at The O2 Arena. I have been so desperate to see her for so long that when I got the chance to get tickets I had to do it. The show was amazing and I left with no voice and a giant smile on my face. Annoyingly I had to go to the concert straight from work so I didn’t get a chance to redo my makeup. That being said today’s blog post is actually inspired by that so here is my favourite long lasting drugstore foundation and concealer combo.

Since I was going straight to the concert after work the makeup I put on that morning needed to last me the day so when I was on the way to the concert I could do a quick powder over and I’d be ready to go. Now there is one drugstore combo that is my holy grail when I need something that will genuinely last me all day I grab my Maybelline Superstay 24hr products. The foundation is £12.99 and the concealer is £9.99. The foundation is a full coverage matte finish foundation that genuinely lasts all day. It feels really lightweight on the skin and yet doesn’t get oily, which considering I’m combo skin type I need something long lasting. This product has been my go to foundation for probably a year now and compared to my other drugstore products definetly the most long lasting on my skin without getting oily.

As the foundation is so full coverage the concealer is a specific concealer for your under eyes that is also full coverage. The concealer looks like a little tooth paste set and has a little brush to apply product. This is by far the best under eye concealer and for the best coverage you just need to blend it in with your fingers for the highest coverage when you blend with a brush it’s a medium finish.

Together these products are the ultimate dream and I can honestly say these products lasted me from 10am to 11pm with the coverage lasting all day. And yes this makeup is concert proof since I sung and screamed Halsey lyrics all night long and FYI she was amazing live. I’ve waited so long to see her live and it was brillaint, I had to go to work the next day with no voice and trust me it was worth it.

So if like me you’ve been looking for concert proof makeup here it is and better yet it’s drugstore and affordable!

Top 3 foundations of 2019

Like I said in yesterday’s blogpost I wanted to start a mini series where I round up some of my favourite products of 2019 so today I’m gonna chat you through my top 3 foundations that I have genuinely used a lot and loved this year.

Let’s start with the cheapest foundation of the 3, first off we have the iconic Conceal & Define Foundation by Revolution costing £9.00. This foundation is a full coverage matte finish and when it first released everyone lost their minds I’ve it because of how good the quality was and yet it was so affordable. This came out around the time that Revolution was rebranding itself and it’s by far one of my favourite drugstore foundations.

My second favourite and also a drugstore option is Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Foundation £11.99. This foundation is by far the most full coverage I think a drugstore foundation has ever been and it’s the perfect dupe for a lot of high end foundations. It feels really light on the skin and is a buildable formula so you can build up the coverage. It is also one of the best long lasting foundations I’ve ever used. I love to wear this at work when I’m doing a long day.

Lastly my highend option which is the famous Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation £27.00. This foundation is a full coverage matte foundation that is quiet heavy on the skin and is ideal for nights out when you want your foundation to last until you scrub it off your face. I adore this foundation and find using thicker foundation brush makes the product feel lighter on the face. I love this foundation regardless if it’s heavy and it’s by far my most used highend foundation for sure this year. I would say out of all of the products mentioned I would say this is my most reliable.

I adore these 3 foundations and they are by far my most used this year and ones that I always go back to even when I try out new products. I would love to know your 2019 favourites and tomorrow I will be showing you my most used lip products of 2019.

The other day I was chatting to a friend about Revolution beauty and our favourite products and we started chatting about their first ever foundation “Fast Base Stick Foundation” and when it first came out I wasn’t too sure about it because it’s a full coverage satin finish and I originally preferred matte base foundations.

But recently I’ve been wearing a lot of Satan finish foundations and I wanted to give this one another go. First off it’s a £5.00 foundation !!!!! Which price wise is insane to begin with considering it was their first ever foundation release and it was so affordable which is something Revolution have always been. Now this foundation is described as a lightweight medium coverage foundation with a glowy finish. On oily skin without powdering the foundation it isn’t as long lasting at other foundations I’m used to wearing but during the day as it does get a little oily it looks more glowy on the skin then greasy which I like a lot. The longest I’ve worn it without powdering is 3/4 hours which I would expect as a oily skin wearing a satin finish foundation. But on days where I do want a glowy foundation that feels lightweight and doesn’t leave me feeling caked this is the foundation I’ve been reaching for.

I also think when I originally got this I also got the wrong colour, I got F1 which was fair and neutral undertone but when I used this product it took all the colour out of my face since I’m very pink toned. Trying the foundation this time I went for F3 which is fair and pink undertone which suits me so much better and doesn’t take the colour from my face.

I definitely think trying this product again I can say I appreciate this formula a lot more now then I did back then and for £5.00 it’s a bloody brilliant foundation especially if you’re looking for a more natural finish foundation. While I still think Conceal and Define is my ultimate favourite foundation by Revolution I’m glad I gave this one another shot.

Like I’ve said before August and September are the months that brands love to bring out new foundations and at the moment a lot of brands are releasing lightweight hydrating matte foundations. Now by now we know I normally wear a matte full coverage foundation because they just work better for my skin and last longer. But when Fenty Beauty released their Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation I decided I would give it a go especially after trying the Revolution concealer & hydrate foundation.

Now this foundation cost £27.00 which for Fenty is normal pricing for foundation. When it came to picking my shade a lot of reviews said the colour you wear in the original foundation is what you wear in the new so that was easy for me shade 120. First impressions of the product you can obviously tell that the packaging is very different and lightweight ( just like the foundation promises) compared to the glass bottle in the original release. I was a little confused at first because I thought it was a squeeze bottle but the lid actually has a pump which made me feel better because for the price I don’t want to be wasting product.

The foundation itself is advertised as a “full coverage, lightweight, Hydrating foundation” that is suitable for all skin types which I love. One thing Fenty Beauty does amazingly is how inclusive it is even when they’re bringing out products with skin types in mind, it can still work for everyone. Now with this product everyone recommended using it with a buffing brush which I did and I was so surprised how full coverage the foundation actually was. Normally when a foundation is lightweight the coverage is sheer but buildable whereas this foundation didn’t need building. The foundation itself leaves your skin with a lovely glow that doesn’t leave you looking oily or sweaty and is still a little matte in places which I really love.

The longest I’ve worn it so far is 5 hours and I’ve only had to powder once which given the formula of the foundation and my combo skin I was really happy. Throughout wearing the foundation my skin never felt caked or clogged, it is so lightweight and blends beautifully with my highlighters and concealers.

I have to admit I’m genuinely surprised by how much I like this foundation considering it’s not my normal foundation type. I think during the winter months when my skin looks a little dull this foundation will be perfect to give my skin a nice glow, I also think this foundation would be perfect for days where I don’t want a lot on my face and want to look more natural.

How are you all? Recently I’ve been trying out foundations that are a lot lighter and hydrating which if you know me well is very out of character since I love matte full coverage products. But I wanted to give my skin a bit of a break from the heavy duty matte makeup and see what the other side is like. After trying the Fenty Beauty Hydrating Foundation I wanted to try another drugstore version. Previously I’ve tried the Conceal and Hydrate foundation which I really enjoyed and a lot of comments said the Maybelline Urban Cover was a good dupe of the Fenty Beauty so I decided to give it a whirl.

Like the Fenty foundation this product is also a lightweight formula with the full coverage finish which recently seems to be a lot formulas that cosmetic companies are coming out with. Now one of the Benefits of the Maybelline foundation over the other foundations is that it has SPF 50 which for someone who is fair toned like myself I love that this foundation has extra protection for my face.

When I first looked up this foundation I wasn’t too sure how it would compare to the Fenty Hydrating Foundation just because that product is on the higher end so of course the formulation will be a little different. But that being said Maybelline really has come up with a contender, their foundation feels so lightweight when first applied. I decided to apply the foundation like I would a normal foundation with a buffing brush and straight away you could see the lightweight formula had a real high coverage finish on the face. This foundation is a Hydrating Full Coverage Foundation so while it does have full coverage this foundation isn’t a matte finish but that being said I wasn’t left as shiny on my face when I used the Maybelline compared to the Fenty formula. Urban Cover still leaves you with a glowy finish but it looks more glowy that shiney / oily which I really love.

Maybelline Urban Cover cost £10.00 and the Fenty foundation cost £27.00 so if you’re looking to try out a Hydrating Foundation like Fenty but don’t want to pay the highend price why not try Maybelline? Both foundations will give you that lightweight glowy Full Coverage finish, the only differences I would say are the coverage does last a bit longer on Fenty than Maybelline and Maybelline does leave you looking less shiny for a longer period of time if you have oily skin. But for the sake of saving £17.00 I’m sure anyone wouldn’t mind putting on some powder during the day. I have oily areas on my face so regardless of the foundation being matte or glowy I would have to powder my face anyway so don’t let that put you off. But like I said if you’re looking to try a highend foundation but prefer drugstore prices Maybelline Urban Cover is the perfect option.
