It is crazy to me how popular N, Ingo, and Emmet are as Pokemon characters. Like. Maybe I've pidgey-holed myself into the side of the internet that really likes them, but I have never seen another human pokemon character (from the games) that has such a loud and consistent fanbase as those three. For N, I kinda understand- he's a crucial character to the story and arguably has some of the best narrative motivations that the franchise has ever seen. But the submas brothers??? If you don't use the battle subway in black and white, you do not meet them ever. And in BW2, they reportedly only show up for a few minutes, then run off into nowhere.

But even before Ingo's reappearance in PLA, their fans were still going strong as ever despite having no new game content from any of those three. And for that matter, we still haven't had anything new from N! It baffles me. What makes these guys click so soundly in people's minds?
