"Jay! I heard it's someone's birthdaaaay....?" Ensign trails off when she sees him. This could just HAPPEN in this world? "Jay..." She just extends her arms for a hug without another word.
He chuckles as he's pulled into a hug. He gives her a good squeeze.
"Thank you for the birthday hug. ... You okay though?"
ah, i see that now that the beast has been released he cannot be contained. are you going to visit nova immediately or are you waiting until tonight? or both
He just smiles. Chuckling with amusement.
so how's the birthday going?
"It's going great! thanks for asking!"
The kids had a strange plan in my mind, but things derail a little when they spot Jay being fleshy. Firstly, Haym's eyes light up and he immediately dashes away to the kitchen. When he returns, cake in hand, he almost trips but Zimelu and Rin manage to keep him steady and prevent disaster.
Haym, now straightened out, holds the cake out to Jay. "I made a chocolate mayonnaise cake from Runcle's recipes and now you get to try it too!! I'm excited to finally get you to try my cooking and baking!! Happy birthday!!"
"The cake isn't the only plan we had. We wanted to show you what sort of clothes our personalities chose, so we thought of a weird fashion show of sorts, if you have the time."
"We also considered something else but Runcle frowned when we suggested it so that one has to go on the backburner."
"It's better that way..." Eloni mumbles, holding up a CD. "We also made a few not as 1010 but as siblings songs for you."
"Happy birthday Dad."
"We love you!"
Though the brief mention of another plan makes him curious, he drops the subject for now. He'll ask Zimelu later... For now he's delighted by having his kids here and a good looking cake to try.
"Oh? a lovely fashion show modelled by my lovely children?~ It sounds wonderful. You know you kids don't need to get me anything, right? Just having you around and happy makes me happy."
He takes the time to hug each android and gives them all wet cheek kisses. "Thank you all very much for the happy birthday wishes. I love you kids. You make me the happiest dad on Earth."
Nova finds time to bring Jay a small box. Inside is a CD and a note. The note explains that the CD contains a few recordings of Nova's own singing and that if Jay wants he could hear something live.
"Happy birthday, Jay. I love you."
He admires the gift in complete awe for a while. Sing.. singing NOVA?!
"I'm going to die."
It took awhile for him to figure out what to get J without stealing anything. But he remembered hearing that he liked making toys. What is that, woodcarving? He can get him some wood! This is the thought process leading Hermit to bring J a freshly sawed off tree branch wrapped in a bow. "Happy birthday capt- woah... You look different."
"Ah, don't mind the look. It should wear off by tomorrow. But thank you for the present! There's some good wood on this branch, so I'll be sure to try and make something worthwhile with it."
... He hopes he didn't get this branch out in the Natura district though...
