For just a few more weeks, journey through Simona Prives’ expansive digital artwork “EVEN WHILE THE DUST MOVES” on Fulton Center’s 52 large video screens. The site-specific artwork offers travelers moving through the three levels of the transit hub scenes of diverse landmasses and skies, interwoven with re-imagined environments on which acrobats, dancers and workers all move. Imagery shifts from subterranean to skyscape, moving alongside MTA commuters as they travel from underground to above ground. Each section of the animated artwork is created through hundreds of layers of a wide range of media, including video, drawings, ink paintings and printmaking, mirroring the multilevel and multifunctional Fulton Center space. Viewable daily for two minutes at the top of each hour.
“EVEN WHILE THE DUST MOVES” is presented by MTA Arts & Design with technical support from Westfield Properties and ANC Sports.
