Darling, It's Better
Katniss and Johanna build a koi pond in Annie's backyard.
Johanna invited Katniss out as a surprise, saying it was for Annie's birthday. It's the same week as her son's, but she always puts the attention on him. This year, Johanna wanted to do more to celebrate Annie. The only trouble is that heron, lurking like he knows what's coming. Johanna will make sure he's gone before the fish get in there, or she'll have to let Katniss take care of it. The system has three filters, but Johanna's mouth has none.

Masks (Explicit)
Sonic tried to still the random tremors that shot down his limbs, knowing what they meant just as he knew his racing heart would do nothing but make the situation more dire. He needed suppressant.
He needed it now.
“Sticks!” Sonic pounded on the badger’s door harder. “C’mon I said the codeword and the backup codeword to make sure the first wasn’t a trick. Lemme in!”
“Sonic?” Sticks opened her door just enough to poke her head out and looked around him suspiciously. “Who’s with you?”
“No one, Sticks, it’s just me. I need–”
“That’s what someone who wasn’t alone would want me to think so they could spring a trap!”
Sonic tilted his head in confusion at the badger, his tone tense and urgent. “What? No!”
Sticks narrowed her eyes in agitation, but then her nose twitched, and she pulled back in surprise.
Sonic rolled his eyes in exasperation, sighing heavily. “That’s what I’m here for.”
Tocarte (Explicit)
Shadow glowered from his position in a far corner of Vanilla and Vector’s living room and wondered, not for the first time, just how he’d managed to get himself into his current predicament.
Naturally, as with most uncomfortable things in his life, it had started with Rouge.
He hadn’t the slightest desire to attend Vector and Vanilla’s adults only housewarming party. People? Noise? Forced small talk? He’d almost rather go back to his early days on the ARK. Both were torture.
He’d been adamant about not going, but the bat’s refusal to accept no for an answer led him to a bargain he couldn’t refuse. An hour at the party in exchange for not one, but two chaos emeralds.
Shadow had agreed, thinking he’d suffer through a few pointless interchanges, eat a bacon-wrapped something, and then find the nearest corner to hide in until his sixty minutes were up.
He should have known better.
Medicinal Mistletoe (Mature)
“Do you think it’s too much?” Sonic called over his shoulder as he hung one final ornament and took a step back. He eyed their new Christmas tree with mild unease, blinking a bit against the brightness of it. It was tall. So tall it barely left room for the green Chaos emerald tree topper Shadow had picked out at a nearby handmade market. Sonic couldn’t complain, though–he was the one who had insisted on this particular tree despite Shadow’s insistence that something so large was impractical and unnecessary.
Sure, they nearly took out their door frame trying to get it inside, and Shadow had eventually had to chaos control it in, but this was their first Christmas as husbands. Sonic wanted something grand, something over the top and spectacular, something that would reflect just how deliriously happy he felt. “Or maybe it’s not enough…. What do you think, Shadow?”
A Light in the Dark (General Audiences)
Shadow did as he did most nights.
He ran.
He ran because the chaos energy he generated needed release. He ran because he was bored. He ran to escape his thoughts and memories he didn’t have the strength to face.
He ran because…
He didn’t have anything else.
It probably wasn’t healthy that most of his runs ended with him circling around to the same place. He was always careful. He never left a trace. He would use chaos control no less than a few miles away and never from the same spot, and yet, somehow he suspected Sonic knew.
Baby Steps (General Audiences)
The stakes were high. The odds against them. Weeks of intense focus and practice had cumulated to this one, singular moment of action.
Sonic leaned forward, arms outstretched, eyes narrowed in intense concentration. “This is your moment,” he urged. “You can do this!”
Across from him a baby girl, just shy of the one year mark, babbled and laughed. She stood with the help of her trusty canine companion, Ozzy, who remained still and motionless at her side. The dog panted expectantly at Sonic, ears perked forward as though he were in on the mission too. The girl’s right hand was buried deep in golden fur, chubby little fingers wound tight in silky strands. Her bare feet were mostly concealed by long tufts of green grass, dotted with cheerful dandelions that tickled the bare rolls of her legs.
How to Destroy a Government Vehicle (Explicit)
Sitting in a car for hours with nothing to occupy your time or mind is hard for most. Doing so when you’re used to moving at the speed of sound and arriving at your destination in minutes, if not seconds?
Damn near impossible.
Sonic stared out the passenger window and slumped down in his seat with an irritable groan. There wasn’t even anything to look at. Grass. Fence post. Occasional cow. Endless nothing.
It was awful. Excruciating.
A Rock and a Hard Place (Explicit)
Sonic wasn’t sure what woke him.
Maybe it was the chill brought by sunset. Maybe it was an owl, or some other nocturnal creature. Maybe it was the fact that he seemed to have picked the rockiest patch of ground for his sleeping bag.
Whatever it was, it didn’t matter.
He had more pressing concerns now.
Sonic’s eyes darted downward, embarrassment flushing across his face at the sight of his very obvious physical desires. The ridiculousness of the situation was too much. His brother and friends were sleeping feet away. If they woke up and saw him like this, he would never live it down.
Coming Home (Mature)
Shadow was tired.
Not physically. His genetics were such that it was unusual for his stamina to be phased in the slightest, but mentally, emotionally? That was a different story.
It felt like he’d been fighting, running, working against or despite some unseen adversary for so long he couldn’t remember what it was like to live with ease.
But maybe this was normal. Perhaps this was what everyone felt.
Maybe this was just life.
Marker (General Audiences)
It wasn’t large or extravagant. It didn’t stand out. In fact, the curved gray stone blended in with the sea of loss behind it like some sort of morbid camouflage, but to Shadow… it was hauntingly unforgettable. This particular rectangle of space was memorized, seared into his immortal mind.
He glanced up at the bare branches of a single sheltering oak that had managed to exist for nearly a century and thought how funny it was that he would outlive it. It towered over those in their infinite rest, protective and strong…
…and utterly alone.
All of Me (Teen)
A normal person wouldn’t be getting up this early. Not by choice anyway.
But Shadow never professed to be normal, and the quiet solitude the hour before dawn offered was a time he relished. There was something special, almost otherworldly about it. It was the overlap where those that went to bed late and those that rose early both slept and the streets were quiet, businesses closed, and lights dimmed. The air had a heaviness, a sense of space outside of time where the world seemed paused.
For someone sensitive to all manner of sensory input, it was the most peaceful hour of the day. And it was always over too soon.

Me: "Tomura.... well, I'm dead..... I'm klutzy as hell, which would not help XD Unless, I can somehow romance our gamer boy. Yes, it would be cheating, wouldn't you?"
